I have a Defiant Electronic deadbolt from home Depot. model G1X2D01. ive lost the manual and i need to delete some old codes from it.

Snap off the back cover (opposite where you punch the numbers) by pinching the sides and pulling off. Do not press a pen or anything into the small light, you do not need too. Just pinch and yank off cover. You will see a small light and beside it is a small SET button by the batteries, it is labelled.. Press this Set button for 2 seconds. The red LED will light on the front code side and beep twice to indicate you are in programming mode. Enter your current code that you want to change (factory set is 12345) and then press the button that looks like a little lock on the keypad. Enter the digits "10" and press the lock button again. Enter the new code (must be six digits) and then press the lock button again. The red light should go on continously for 10 seconds. The code should be effective.
Note: if you have problems like we did, you can also remove one battery and press the "set" button simulataneously when you reinsert the battery. This resets the factory code of 12345. Then you can start over. For some reason our old code was only 4 digits, but it would not let us reprogram a 4 digit code. It didn't work until we did a 6 digit new code.

I need to reset the code

How do I change the access code (and delete my old code) on my Powerbolt 1000?
The steps below are to change your access code to a new code. This will also remove any previous codes stored in the Powerbolt's memory.

pb1000programbutton.jpg

  1. Manually put the bolt in the extended (lock) position. Press the PROGRAM button once, enter your new 4 - 8 digit code and then press the LOCK button.
  2. Press the PROGRAM button twice, enter the same new code and then press the LOCK button once.
  3. Press the PROGRAM button three times, enter the same new code and then press LOCK once.
If your old code still remains in the unit, you will need to perform a hard reset of the unit. To perform a hard reset of the unit, remove all four batteries and leave them out for 1 hour. After the hour has passed, you may re-enter the batteries.

We are trying to reset a security code for our existing weiser lock and it isn't taking the new code entered.

  1. To program the first code, press the reset button once, then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.
  2. To program the second code, press the reset button twice , then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.
  3. To program the third code, press the reset button 3 time, then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.
