How do I clear (erase) all codes from my Weiser Powerbolt 1000 in order to start with fresh entries? Adding new codes does NOT override/delete old existing codes as page 7 of my manual indicates. I now actually now have 3 codes which unlock the lock! I need to remove access from a code holder, and prefer to erase them all now. Thanks so much for the help! :)

How do I change the access code (and delete my old code) on my Powerbolt 1000?
The steps below are to change your access code to a new code. This will also remove any previous codes stored in the Powerbolt's memory.

How do I clear (erase) all codes from my Weiser - pb1000programbutton.jpg

  1. Manually put the bolt in the extended (lock) position. Press the PROGRAM button once, enter your new 4 - 8 digit code and then press the LOCK button.
  2. Press the PROGRAM button twice, enter the same new code and then press the LOCK button once.
  3. Press the PROGRAM button three times, enter the same new code and then press LOCK once.

If your old code still remains in the unit, you will need to perform a hard reset of the unit. To perform a hard reset of the unit, remove all four batteries and leave them out for 1 hour. After the hour has passed, you may re-enter the batteries.

Deleting Codes on a Weiser powerbolt.

The Weiser brand and Kwikset brand Powerbolt are identical (Black & Decker), so these instructions will work just fine for you:

http://www.kwikset.com/Customer-Support/Product-FAQs/Faq/50160000000HhhEAAS.aspx

Notice that the above is a .PDF file type. That means that you need to have Adobe Reader or similar installed on your computer to view it. So if you are unable to view the file, download (for free) and install Adobe Reader first. You can get it here:

I have a Weiser Electronic 1000 which is about 2yrs old, batteries are new. Keypad beeps when pressing buttons to unlock and lock but does not do anything - can anyone help please

To determine why your lock is beeping abnormally, please follow these steps:

Take out batteries and unplug powerstrip. (Replace the batteries with new.)
Let it sit for 1 minute, then put the batteries back in and wait another minute.
If it does not beep, the keypad needs to be replaced (17733-1).
If the unit continues to beep, the powerboard needs to be replaced (A17734-3,3 Powerboard 1470 brass finish; A17734-3,26D Powerboard 1470 satin chrome finish; A17734-3,5 Powerboard 1470 antique brass finish).

Navigate to the complete page that I cut this from can be found by cutting and pasting this link into your browser search bar:

http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhhZAAS.aspx

Then go to: US & International/FAQ Categories/Keyless Entry/Powerbolt 1000/Search Results/ How do I troubleshoot my Powerbolt 1000?

I suggest calling the appropriate toll-free number and having a conversation with a representative about this problem, first of all to confirm that you need the part before you go through the expense. Secondly, your lock may be new enough for you to talk them into warrantying it, and thirdly, they will be able to get the correct part on order for you.

Good luck--and please provide feedback if this helps!

Our Powerbolt 1000 will not delete old codes.

Are you certain you're programming new codes properly? It should just overwrite the codes when new ones are programmed. If you are doing it right, then I'd say you may want to have the unit repaired/replaced...
To program new codes (just in case):
Push the program button on the control board once for memory 1 OR twice for memory 2. Enter a 4-8 digit code. Push the lock button to end the entry. The unit will emit a 2-second long beep if your code is accepted. (If it doesn't beep, you were too slow. Try again.) Repeat the process for the other memory position.
