The likely answer is the motor is overheating and the auto cut-off switch activates. If you wait a while it will then start up and repeat.
The answer will probably have to be a replacement motor, but a qulified engineer may find he can clean up the motor contacts and get it running - but that may cost same or more than a new motor!

all nobs and controls have to be off before the lock can be disengaged and the new knobs might have broken there pins somewhere inside a knob so its kinda permanently locked till the knob can be fixed saftey features
