How do I reset forgotten password on Benq DV 2680 lcd tv?

Try a reset to this TV, and then do a re-tune. If it do not help you; the main system control memory IC to this set is faulty, and should be replaced.
There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset; and the other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. Sorry, I have no idea to help you here. Maybe you used the Model Number of this set as a password and you have forgotten that you used it.

As you thinks mey correct to an extent. If backlight inverter board has some kind of short with its components, the fault you describes here will occur to LCD TVs, irrespective of Brand and Model. Most of the backlight inverters for any models are available at open electronic spare part shops at your town. Just take the backlight inverter board out from your Tv. It will have a special number printed on it, and should be noted when buying a new one. Remember its connections when you take the boaed out from your set. If needy, mark the positions of connecting wires to that borad on a piece of paper, for reference.
Replace the backlight inverter first. It must solve the problem of your BenQ LCD Tv. OK.

The default password for the NS-LTDVD19-09 is: 0000

On some TVs the default password still works even if the user password has been set - and forgotten ;)

Try this password and if you can't get in, please post back and I will try to find the override or password reset sequence for this model. If you have a different model of Insignia TV to the one specified above, please specify the correct model number if/when replying.
