Our whirlpool seems to be collecting water at the bottom, inside the refridgerator part. Sometimes the water collects in the plastic produce bins. Has anyone run into this situation?

Remove bottom and rear panel icemaker if so equipped there is a drain hole on the right-hand side next to the Styrofoam vents for the airflow that was blocked with ice
Hi, Here is a tip that will tell you where the water is coming from and how to fix it. The drain hole has froze shut and the water from the defrost will not drain out.
Is water connected to this unit for the ice maker? If not than this would be the water that comes off the refrigeration coils as the unit defrosts. The water should be collected by a shallow plastic collector, routed to a drain tube, and empties to a pan under the frig where the water will evaporate quickly. Check drain collector for damage and drain hose for blockage.
.you need to check the drain to make sure it is not clogged or blocked that would stop the water defrosted from you evaporator coil from draining into the drain pan.rare occasions the unit will stay in a defrost mode while trying to cool causing alot more water to be draining.good luck with your fridge.let me know how things go for you.
Hi, A condensate loop in a refrigerator is any device that produce heat in certain areas, most commom is around refrigerator door, which are mullion heaters that produce mild heat, to prevent ice build up around doors, prevent door gasket from getting stuck, another type of condensate loop are found under or back of most refrigerator, hot gas line from compressor, sometimes are loop under ref. or other location of ref. before it is connect to ref. condenser, most ref. condensate loop are used to evaporate water collected from evaporator. to prevent clouding of glass on doors, etc, and it could be electrical, or mechanical, base on applications.
defrost drain under coils in freezer is blocked or frozen with ice down in defrost hole. defrost hole with hairdryer but be careful not to melt the plastic.
The condensate drain begins inside the freezer compartment behind the back panel and at the bottom of the evaporator coils. Every time the refrigerator defrost (about 3 times a day) the water needs to flow out the bottom of that pan in the freezer and into a plastic drain pipe to the bottom of the refrigerator into a pan on top of the compressor or side of compressor. Sometimes the drain is blocked inside freezer and there is a buildup of ice. But sometimes it is blocked near the opening that leads out of the fresh food compartment and then down to compressor tray/pan. If the blockage is near that exit then you will see a trail of water running down the back of the fresh food compartment and settle in bottom. The only solution is to slowly and carefully remove the drain pipe from the back and inside of refrigerator and clean it out. Let me know how you are doing on this and I will be here to help,Thanks Sea Breeze
towards the bottom inside the fridge, you will find a gulley with a drain in the middle. this drain is blocked. push something flexible down the drain till water flows away freely
