It's the water inlet solenoid - bottom rear of fridge. Sounds crazy as you would think it's something at the dispenser, but it's not.

The dispenser only activates the open/close of the solenoid.

check your water filter. water preasure is important in the operation of the water valves. if the filter is ok replace the valve. water filter should be changed at least once every year.

SOURCE: WATER pooling in bottom of fridge

did you try to remove the 2 ***** in freezer floor???. if not remove the floor and check for ice build up underthere, if so:

you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over

SOURCE: dripping water dispencer

Dripping problem is from 2 sources.  Faulty water valve or faulty water connector behind refrigerator.  If the dripping is constant and doesn't seem to end, then it's a faulty water valve.  If the dripping stops after awhile, then the water connector is allowing air into the water line causing the dripping.  Have that connection checked to make sure that it's securely in place.

SOURCE: Cleaning drip tray.

I have just removed the drip tray from my fridge freezer and it was relatively easy.

Do not remove the compressor unit.

The drip tray is held in place by a metal clasp which is welded to the top of the compressor. The clasp is a flat piece of metal which must physically twisted to align with the key way in the plastic drip tray. I used thin pair of pliers to grip the clasp and twist it clockwise to line up with the tray key way. The tray then has to be carefully manouvred off the compressor so as not to cause damage or spill it foul smelling contents. This I managed to achieve fairly easily.

Clean out and install then twist the clasp to clamp the tray into position. I don't know what would happen if you didnt lock the tray back in position as it does not seem capable of falling off on its own and it would be easier to remove next time.

Hope this makes sense

SOURCE: HOT POINT FRIDGE - FREEZER DRIPS WATER

The evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the back of the freezer.

Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Water drops

likely the water valve has sediment in it - preventing it from closing properly.

Change the valve - and think about an inline filter to prevent this in the future.

No water or ice from older kenmore side by side

You must pull fridge out the water valve is in the bottom back. Sounds like the valve is stuck open. You can Google your model# to find appliance parts to order new valve.

Please advise where the dispenser is leaking? If it is dripping out the front of the door, then I suggest you run the water dispenser to flush about 3 liters of water. Does the noise stop when you open the fridge door?

I would replace the main board. I experienced the same problem and the board fixed it This board is shared by many models and brands of fridges and the transformer goes bad from power surges this board powers the solenoid valves that open for your water
