I am new to Sew What Pro, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I just can't get the 'horse' to show up as an image when I browse and drag it in. And I think that's why I can't see the horse in the sewing machine when I insert the disquette.

Do you have this problem with only one floppy, or have you tried several? Make sure the floppy is pressed into the slot fully. It should sort of "click" in.
Is the floppy properly formatted for the Designer1? You cannot just drop embroidery files onto it and put it in the machine - the designs need to be in .shv format and in a certain file hierarchy. Only genuine Husqvarna embroidery disks, or ones created in Husqvarna or Embird software can be used.
Of course it may be a sign that your Des1's floppy drive is not working, in which case you will have to take the machine in to be fixed.
Post more detail on your problem and I will try to offer more specific advice.

Dear bjdouce,
Push the floppy drive lid inwards and do the following:
First of all, check for any visible thread or dust inside the floppy drive.
Secondly clean the drive by blowing it with compressed air.
If this does not help, it is time to upgrade your machine to USB. Great to work with. Cost: plus minus $500.00.
Good Luck

Disk Manager is part of Customizing software, in case you were wondering if you needed to buy more software. Ask again if you are having trouble locating it. You also need to format your floppy disk in Disk Manager before writing your designs to it.

You need to use either Organizer or Disk Manager to put designs on the floppy disk. Both of these are Husqvarna programs, not part of your computers operating system. If you copy shv file directly, the machine does not have all of the information that it needs to read the files. If the folder containing your original shv files that you purchased contains additional files, you just need to copy EVERY file within that folder to the floppy disk and it might work. Don't attempt to move individual files to the floppy. You will need them all.

You can get the floppy drive replaced. I did tons of them! I don't think it is you. Sometimes you can "wiggle" the floppy a bit with the little flap door open and get it to read. Not a huge deal to replace.
