Ok! The digital optical cable will have standard ends, there could be a protective cap covering the ends that would need to be removed first! you should be able to insert the cable without damage!Ok! Which TV do you have? Your TV might have an 'Optical' audio out. You'll need a specialist cable to do this. These cables are usually cheap to buy and easy to get a hold of. Connect the cable to the 'Optical' Out on the back of the TV and the other end into the 'OPT' port in the back of the sound bar. This should mean you can use the HDMi port for your firestick.
The cable's plug only fits in one way around so be careful fitting it. Your sound-bar might have a small protector peg in the hole you'll need to remove first.
Usually, any sound played through the TV will play through the optical cable so it will play through the sound-bar.
This happens a lot the supply cable bending or damaged shorts out causing smoke and a bang if fitted with or backed up with a high amperage fuse .
check length of supply cable if you find damage/ burning smell,
either replace cable, or you could fit a inline rubber socket and plug by cutting out damaged part of cable and fitting female part of plug first into supply cable 1. then on the vacuum side of cable fit the male part of plug 2 . supply 1. -----o o----------2.--- vac
using insulation tape if you like you can tape plug and socket together to stop it pulling apart, normally cable damage will not damage the vacuum cleaner. and fit the correct fuse rating for the machine 1000 watts at 240v divide 240 into 1000 =4.166 amps
so with a 1000 w load you do not need a 13 a fuse fitted 6 amp fuse should be ok. or go online and see what is recommended re fuse size for appliance ,
Have you inspected the HDMI socket? I had the same problem and the socket had been damaged by a tight fit cabinet with insuficcient space behind the amplifier. A sideways cable tug on the inserted HDMI cable had snapped a small piece of plastic seperating the two rows of HDMI connectors, and three were splayed out, so no connection when plugged in. Solution was to carefully re-align the connector fingers and glue a tiny piece of insulating material between the two rows. The output now works perfectly. A bit fiddley, but worth the trouble when you look at how much Yamaha would charge to fit a new socket, or even a new board! Don.
Hi,If I understood correctly you broke antenna out socket of Cable box..ok no problem, your TV and cable box should have other jacs/socket for this connection as well.. Take the A/V output of your cable box into TV possibly with RCA cables..than you can select the channel thru Cable box on TV ..(AV mode needs to be selected on TV )
**
in order to listen and watch your magnavox
DVD 's "2xRCA audio" and "1x RCA Video" cables "OUT" should go to
Tv or Cable box "IN" connections separately ..("IN" goes to "OUT" of other
..pls remember,Always reverse connected ) (audio will come thru
Receiver and TV.)
Since you successfully connected your Receiver to play video on TV (one way only ) ,here is the second reverse action if you wish to listen or RECORD a program on your TV on magnavox **
you need to connect "Audio Output " as can either be : RCA jacks or
"Optic cable output" or "SCART "connector " of your TV or Cable box .( every TV -cable box has
different type of Audio out jacks ) ** to "iRCA nput or "Optic Cable input" of your magnavox (whichever you want ,based on the necessary cables on your hand ) There you go..Tv/Cable box video and sound are both on the magnavox for recording..
Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know. Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up for me to continue for Helping out the Community :)
sounds like your pc's usb socket has a problem, try the following... 1. Try a different usb port, 2. Using a small light (and possibly a magnifying glass) look inside the usb port on the pc for bent pins or distortion within the socket causing the pins to touch something they shouldn't. 3. check the usb cable for minor damage, try a different cable if you can, different machines use different ways of manufacturing sockets making some more sensitive to a damaged plug than others. The pc turning off is a safety system which prevents power being sent through data ports. If the pc turns off immediately after inserting the usb cable then that's a sure sign that there is a bad connection/short somewhere between the socket and the cable. Hope this helps.
The TOSLINK optical connector is almost aquare and should be the same on both blue-ray and on the receiver. There are 4 orientation you can try and only one fits. Blue-ray can have the connector installed rotated, but it should be the same connector. http://gallery.techarena.in/data/513/thumbs/Toslink-and-Coaxial-Connectors.jpg Looking at the cable at Amazon I can see that it is the correct cable. If it really doesn't fit, maybe you have damaged cable or damaged connector. Try the other end of the cable and/or other optical input on the receiver. BTW there is also combined analog/optical jack connector. It looks like normal jack socket, but accepts also optical signal. But this is not called Toslink and usually is not used in home theatre devices.
This TV has no HDMI input socket. It Has a DVI input socket. Therefore you will require an HDMI to DVI converter adapter or an HDMI to DVI cable. The DVI is video only so you will require audio cables from your Sky box (Audio L and R ) which will connect to the back left of your TV (Audio L/R sockets next to the s-video and component video connectors)
I solve this problem by using an optical cable. The only OUT socket from the TV was this one so i connected the optical cable to the optical input in my amp and it's ok now. If your TV has another type of Out socket (HDMI OUT e.g) i think you can use it as well
You are supplied with a Composite
AV cable which would typically look like the below image
Connect the AV Multi Out Connector
to the socket on the back of your PS3 Console.
Match the colors of the Jacks with
the connectors on the TV which says "Video in".
Connecting with an HDMI
Cable:
HDMI cable is not supplied with the PS3. You need to purchase it
seperately. This cable would enhance the audio-video quality of your
TV.
Just connect one end of the
connector to the HDMI OUT connector socket on the back of the console
Connect the other end to the
socket on the back of your TV which says HDMI IN.
Connecting with an
Optical cable:
You need to purchase an Optical cable if you wish to connect your PS3
console through a digital audio device (Home theater, AV receiver
etc.,). You need to connect Video ouput seperately with a help of Video
output cable (HDMI, AV Cable etc.,)
Connect one end of the optical
cable to "Audio Out" socket on the console
Connect the other end to the audio
receiver.
Note: You can also connect your console to the
Internet to use the Playstation 3 internet capabilities. Here's how
you do it:
The Playstation 3 only supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T type
networks. It needs a High speed internet connection. Do not connect it
to a standard telephone connection or cables that are not supported.
It might cause a malfunction or damage to the system.
