PrimeFilm 1800u will not work on Windows 8.
Here is the response I received from the company for the question:

Where can I get drivers for windows 8? Windows 7 drivers are not working on Windows 8.

Response:

Hello, This scanner will not be supported on windows 8, all of our USB 1.0 technology scanner will no longer be supported beyond Windows 7.

I have not used my PrimeFilm 1800i for quite a while and find that I probably need a driver on this computer. I used to use it but I am not sure which of my computers it ran on. What can I do to make...
You need to install a CyberView X scanner driver to use this scanner on Windows and Mac OS X.
On Mac OS X, you need to run VueScan with Rosetta, since CyberView X is a PowerPC program. To do this:
  1. Click on the VueScan icon while holding the Control key
  2. Choose 'Get Info'
  3. Check 'Open using Rosetta'

Prime film 1800i 35mm scanner lost software
Dear Brian white the next link you can find the drivers, http://www.primefilm.nl/main.html.
On the page make the choice drivers on the top of the page, then USB ondersteuning Windows 95, then PrimeFilm/, then PrimeFilm 1800I/, here you find a manual, then choice Windows/, then 98se_me_2k_xp_vista/ and here you have de drivers and the update.

On de next site I have found Firmware Update only I have no experience with it

Can't use the ''Film selection on epson V700
Make sure the transparency light cable that comes from the lid is plugged in to the back of the scanner. If the cable is unplugged for any reason, the transparency/film options will not be available.
