I went from XP to windows 7 64 bit and now my cyber-shot camera is not recognized when I try to download pictures. Sony couldn't figure it out.

If you connect CyberShot Camera from a USB Cable, check the cable once. If that doesn't solve the problem, Choose Mass storage option from the Camera Menu when prompted. I think it should work.

DCS T70 LCD does work properly .I mean to say if i try to use one function another function gets started instead of desired function

Hi,

Based on the information you've provided, it seems that the touch screen panel is not aligned. You can try Calibrating the touch screen to resolve the issue.
Calibration option is in the Main Settings 1 Menu of the Camera. Calibration option enables you to perform calibration when the touch panel buttons do not react at the appropriate points where you touch. You can use the paint pen, touch the X mark displayed on the screen. The X mark moves on the screen. Once the calibration option is finished successfully, the touch screen should work.
The Calibration option can be done only if the Menu is accessible.
You can also perform a power reset before performing the Calibration.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.
This should resolve the issue.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Please set the "USB Connect" option in the Menu of the Camera to "Mass Storage" option.
Steps to go to USB Connect option:
Press Menu button and select Setup option.
Then select the Setup 2 and then the USB Connect option

Then connect the Camera to the Computer and the Camera will be recognized as a removable device in "My Computer".

The Computer recognizes the Camera as a Removable device just like a Pen Drive. You can access the files in the Camera in the same way you access the files in the Pen Drive.

Then copy the files and paste them to a desired location on the Hard drive of the Computer.

If this does not work, then you may select the "PTP" option and Pictbridge option before connecting the Camera to the Computer to check if they work.

Please use the supplied USB cable to connect the Camera to the Computer.

I can not get my pictures to download automaticlly into my computer. It used to do this. What can I do to fix this?

Solution: Windows should automatically recognize your digital camera and prompt you with a list of possible actions, such as viewing the pictures stored on your memory card. Sometimes, this recognition takes several minutes, especially if you're plugging in the device for the first time. If, after waiting a reasonable amount of time, you are not prompted with actions for your digital camera, ensure that your camera's batteries are charged and that your camera is turned on, as many models require the camera to be powered in order for the computer to access its contents. If these things check out, try plugging your camera into a different USB port. Next, go to the Start menu and click My Computer (in Windows XP) or Computer (in Windows Vista and Windows 7) and then see if your device is listed under the Devices With Removable Storage section. If it is, double-click your camera's icon to interact with it. If not, try the following suggestions.

It could be that in order to use your digital camera with your computer, you must first install the software that came with your camera. If you can’t locate the software disc that came with your digital camera, you may be able to download the software from the manufacturer’s Web site.

If none of the above solutions solves the problem, you may need to enable your camera in the Device Manager. In Windows XP, click the Start menu and choose Control Panel. Click Performance And Maintenance, click System, and choose Device Manager under the Hardware tab. In Vista and Win7, click Start and choose Computer. Click System Properties at the top and then choose Device Manager from the left menu. Locate and expand the Disk Drives entry, right-click your camera’s name, and choose Enable. Once enabled, your camera should be recognized and listed in My Computer. If your camera is still not recognized, we suggest you contact your camera’s manufacturer for additional suggestions.
