I had this problem too. You're going to have to restore it with iTunes.
Plug your iPod into your computer and sync it with iTunes.
Go to the "Summary" tab and choose restore.
Let iTunes do its thing and try it on you dock again.
If that doesn't work then I would suggest taking it on and off of the docking station until it works. I know this sounds really primitive but this is what I ended up doing and now it works fine.
One last thing, if you recently upgraded your iPod's firmware then that might be what is messing you up. Sometimes docks aren't compatible with the newer firmware Apple puts out so you might have to buy a new dock unfortunately. But if your iPod was jailbroken on a past firmware you can use this video to downgrade it to when it worked with your dock.
I have the same problem. Used to work even on Iphone 4 and suddenly it just stopped working about 10 days ago. Very strange as i have not updated my iphone (I'm on Version 4.02). My Denon dock is ASD-3W (wifi) connected to Denon 3808CI. Any info appreciated.
I made the same mistake and had the same issue. You cannot use the line in Aux plug at the same time as the iPod. Unplug the line in aux cable from the pipe and the iPod will play beautifully in the pipe without it.
the apple ipod are very delicate and it seems that docks are very harsh on the internal workings IE: motherboard of the ipod. it not just the touch, it's all ipods. My suggestion is to check the headphone jack and if you get sound, don;t play your ipod on the dock at all. Your dock has probably done some damage to the audio circuit on the board. If you get sound through the headphone jack save your ipods life and just use it through the jack. I have replaced numerous motherboards on ipods played on docks. they just don;t handle the charging and playing very well whether it's heat or just the wrong voltage I am not sure. But my first question to a customer is have you played it on a dock. I would stay away from the dock
Yes, the docking station is damaging the iPod. The vibration when used load is causing damage to the iPod. If you notice, the iPod will only freeze when it is playing load in the docking station. To avoid the problem, you'll need to play the music at a lower sound with less vibration. Once I began to play my music at more reasonable sound levels, I discontinued the problem. Very disappointing solution...but it is the answer. I too called Altec Lansing. They are not aware of this issue...I told them to search the internet - it's all out there.
