Check the door switch: The door switch is responsible for turning the light on and off when you open and close the door. Disconnecting the switch, as you have already done, can confirm if the switch is working correctly or not. If it still remains at half brightness, the switch may need to be replaced.
Check the light circuit: If the switch appears to be working correctly, there may be a problem with the light circuit. This could be a problem with the wiring or the bulb itself. You can try replacing the bulb to see if that resolves the issue.
Warm moist air was being pulled into the freezer, since it wasn't closed all, of the way. That might have caused the evap. coils to freeze-up. A hair dryer didn't defrost the evaporator coils.
As far as, the rack slide, you'll have to repair that, or something is in the way, preventing it to travel all the way back. If there is an air leak in the door gasket, moist air will be pulled inside, and cause problems. Good luck.
maybe the door frame / gasket was moist and had frozen the door closed.... try unplugging the unit for a half hour or so. Good Luck... Johnny B.... 337 739 5859
You can try and adjust the front legs of the frig raising the front about one or two inches. This will but more pressure on the door seal.
Sometimes if you slam the frig door the freezer door will try and open. Tilting the frig back will help solve this problem.
