I have a dvd recorder LG dr275. The dog ate the remote. I cant access the menu to make settings adjustments. Is there a way to access the set up functions without the remote?

I was asking the same question for the LG DR389 , but couldn't find any help . With time on hand I explored the remote control . Try HOME , scroll down to a disk , go right and I got FINALISE , click and it activates . I can now play my DVD on any player or my PC . Good Luck !
This can be as simple as a dirty lens or more drastic like defecitve optics. If you can access the lens, try cleaning it using a cotton swab and alcohol. Next try playing a music CD. If the CD willplay OK, but hte DVD will not, then the optics are failing and will need to be replaced.
On the suggestions that you have on the website, tell us to use a CD-R wich I did. But after wasting a few of it, I tried with a DVD-R and worked much better.
Once you record whatever you want, go to HOME. Select the START option on the Setup Menu. Press the up - down button to select the disc a the bottom.
Press the right button to select [ Finalize ] .
Select [Finalize ] then press ENTER.
Select [ OK ] then press ENTER.
I have only just had the same problem just resently and found this info in the Easy set-up guide that came with the dvd when I bought it. It is the glossy paper not the actual guide haha. I couldn't find out how in the guide book if that was the same problem you were having. Hope that helps you
I found the answer to the problem eventually,it was because when setting up the recorder I had set the clock to 2007 instead of 2008 everything now working OK
