A motorcycle battery should be charged with a small charger, 6 amps at most. Take the time to be sure your battery connections are clean, tight and in good shape. When charging any battery hydrogen gas is emitted, do it in a ventilated area with no open flame. Hook the negative clamp (black) of the charger to the negative (-) post of the battery, positive clamp (red) to the positive of the battery (+); plug charger in. Chargers may have a gauge that shows battery charged when needle is almost to 0. I prefer to spend a couple extra bucks and have a charger with automatic shut off to avoid over charging
