SOURCE: I have a pontiac grand prix gt 3800 non turbo is

I have a 2003 Pontiac grand prix...I've lost power, it won't go over 30mph, it doesn't shift thru the gears smoothly. The service engine soon light goes off and on, more so when I'm trying to gas it. Its seems as tho it's 'being choked'...like not getting gas or air. So far, I've flushed the ******, changed the plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter. I suspect the problem is a clogged cat convertor. I've been told that the exhaust can be opened a little near the cat to allow air to flow in....that should confirm if the problem is the Cat or not. I'm testing that theory today.

02 Grand Prix GT 3800 starts and stalls immediately (especially when warm). Will start up again and run fine, though it may have to be cranked a bit to get started the second time. I cleaned the MAF sensor...

Id say maf again, due to the previous instance, however on a 3.8 i wouldnt be above checking the fuel pressure regulator for seeping through the vacuum hole. The boss has a 00 impala with a 3800 and my wife does both with 230k roughly on each, seen quite a few of those regulators and maf's over that time.

2000 grand prix, 3800 when it warms up losses power

I would have to say the fuel/water separator filter is clogged up. The filter will remove water and crud from the gas. It looks more like a small can under the car. If the car set up with a low tank of gas, water will condensate inside and once the new fuel sloshes around it gets all this junk off the walls of the tank and that gets sucked in the filter. Try and replace that first..

1997 pontiac grand prix gt 3800, having accelaration problem and engine will not idle it dies when i let off the gas pedal

Check the mass air flow sensor on the throttle body. It may need cleaning or replaced if the filament is broken.
