If you are using that for an auxiliary power supply for a phone charger etc., the charger has a fuse in it. IF you are actually seeing the heating coil on lighter not glowing, They do wear out and have to be replaced.
Take it out and screw it back in there are 2 pieces the one you plug into and the the screw on base that tightens it to hold it in place very simple to do
Try plugging something else into the lighter socket,,,if it is getting power then you should suspect the phone charger, if it isnt,,then suspect the fuse,,,just open the fuse box cover and you will find the list and description of all the fuses and their locations there.
A short in the phone charger has blown a fuse in the fuse box. If it is not behind a removable panel on the driver's side of the dash, consult you owners manual for location.
