Probably yanked on the cord too hard or violently.

Cigarette lighter suddenly stopped working. Not the fuse. Hilux Surf Import. Any clues?

If you are using that for an auxiliary power supply for a phone charger etc., the charger has a fuse in it. IF you are actually seeing the heating coil on lighter not glowing, They do wear out and have to be replaced.

My lighter socket is loose. I can't use the socket to charge my cell phone. This is in a 1998 Ford Taurus. the assembly that the charger goes into comes out and is not connected to the silver sock

Take it out and screw it back in there are 2 pieces the one you plug into and the the screw on base that tightens it to hold it in place very simple to do

Cigarette plug does not work

Try plugging something else into the lighter socket,,,if it is getting power then you should suspect the phone charger, if it isnt,,then suspect the fuse,,,just open the fuse box cover and you will find the list and description of all the fuses and their locations there.

I plugged a cel phone charger on the lighter socket and then the heater, radio and clock stop working, what's the problem

A short in the phone charger has blown a fuse in the fuse box. If it is not behind a removable panel on the driver's side of the dash, consult you owners manual for location.
