SOURCE: kenmore washing machine 80 series

check for kinks in the pipe or restrictions to the flow in the pipes before it gets to the washer, if all is ok then check the filter on the outside of the water connector on the machine for dirt

if you confirm all is clear and the flow of water is not the problem before the machine, replace the cold water solenoid

SOURCE: amana washer won't fill with water

1st I checked the power, compressor in garage had tripped the breaker to the washer circuit. This model has no bells or whistles to tell you if the power is on to the unit. Reset the breaker and unit works.

SOURCE: We just purchased a top load Kenmore 800 washer

The first thing seems to be the timer,or the water level switch. Try filling the washer with water by hand, if it starts to agitate after being filled its the timer, if not it is the water level switch, let me know if you need further assistance.

sounds like the timer has a bad spot in it probaby a factory thin spot in the dial
it's where the coil or filiment has a gap even a micro gap or wear spot can cause this

I pull the knob to do a regular wash and nothing happens, no water no agitation. However, when I turn the knob to rinse it that works. This suddenly happened, was working before. Is it the knob?

Rinse on most washers is cold water your wash cycles can be cold hot and even warm. Problem You may have is a bad water feed valve Or Timer and possible bad wire harness at motor to timer
check water valve Turn washer to regular wash cycle pull knob on will washer fill ?
if water starts to fill then change washer temp if washer has this.
if water comes out on all settings water valve is fine.
Check the water both hot and cold that it is turned on;at faucet.
Your Kenmore Most likely has a bad water valve check for hot water side clog or not working.

Kenmore 800 series washer

If all washing machine components are functioning, just not at the correct time, i's likely to be a problem with the programmer.

Another problem might be to do with an emergency drain switch which may be stuck in the on position, causing the pump to void the contents of the machine.

I have a top loading Kenmore Washing Machine. I don´t have the excat model but looks like a KENMORE HEAVY DUTY SERIES 70 AUTOMATIC WASHER, MODEL # 110.92273100. The problem presents after finishing...

You may have 2 defective parts.
First, make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on.
If the water fill problem is the same, the water temp switch is bad.
The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch.
Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on.
If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.

Our Kenmore Top Load Washer series 800 is not working properly. When you set the Control Cycle knob to start a normal load it agitates instead of filling up with water rinses instead of stopping the load...

We bought our Series 800 Washer (and dryer) in 08/2009. My wife has never been happy with them. It is off warranty now 10/5/2010. We have always had Kenmore... but she hates this set.
We are having the exact same problem with this washer. The current problem is on the regular cycle when it gets to the spin segment it does spin and all the water is removed HOWEVER just before it shut off it fills with rinse water.
I'll bet any money they are made in China. Looking for a solution on the web. Sears is no help.

Kenmore Series 90 washing machine, won't start cycle

First, see the Sears Parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.26912691&pathTaken=partSearch

Next, see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service manual for top load, direct drive washers:

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

I hate to say it but it sounds like a Timer problem.

I'd use the troubleshooting section of the Service Manual and the timer testing procedures to confirm the problem.

Note that there are two types of timers with different procedures to remove them.

Also see the following for how to release the console for access to the timer and other controls.

Kenmore 80 Series Overflow

We've now had this happen three times and the exact same thing caused it all three times.

If the water level selector knob hasn't "clicked" into one of the given load levels on the control panel(i.e. the knob is in between levels) it will continue to fill until you discover water everywhere and turn the knob until it "clicks" into a level.

As far as I know, it has nothing to do with loose hoses or bad switches, it's bad design. There seems to be no safety mechanism to turn off the water if you over- or under-shoot the desired water level.
