Location starter motor - Sony VAIO VGC-LS20E Notebook

The starter relay is found in the underhood fuse panel, located driver's side of the engine bay between the battery and the shock mount.

on the side of the starter motor.
starter relay is the other part not there.
relays are in fuse/relay box.
no cranks have 6 causes.

the LW2 comes with a 6 cylinder. The starter is located on the backside of the motor (firewall side) where the motor bolts to the transmission.

The LW1 comes with a 4 cylinder. the starter is located on the front of the motor (radiator side) where the motor bolts to the block. If you crawl under the car you will see it.

Its located in the under hood engine compartment fuse box.

There will be three same relays.One for fuel pump and other for horn and bit bigger one for starter controlling.

1997 Daihatsu Pyzar starter motor located bottom of engine bay at the back between engine and framework below front window of car



Its in a real nasty place

(see picture)



Very tight space and to remove both starter motor bolts, you need to access it from above engine and below engine


- Disconnect battery connections from battery first

- Disconnect wire from starter motor

- Remove starter motor bolts

- Remove starter motor via top of engine (lots of jiggling involved due to wires in the way etc)

hi from uk to locate starter motor follow the positive + lead from the battery and when you reach other end of lead it is connected to the starter motor solenoid which is connected to starter motor starter is usually secured to engine/g/box by thee bolts ? b4 you commence removing starter you must !disconnect the battery earth/negative lead ! if you radio is coded ?ensure you know its code b4 disconnection of battery ?

starter is on the side of the engine where the transmission meets
just follow the positive battery cable, it's connected to the solenoid

Starter - Removal & installing

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and safely support the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands.
3. Disengage the solenoid wiring connector from the terminal. This connection may be held in place by a retaining nut, or it could be a push-in connector.
4. Remove the B+ nut and wire from the starter motor terminal.
5. Remove the starter motor-to-transaxle bellhousing mounting bolts.
6. Remove the starter from the vehicle. If equipped, remove the starter motor spacer.

To install:

1. If equipped, hold the starter motor spacer in position.
2. Install the starter motor into position on the vehicle.
3. Install the starter motor-to-transaxle bellhousing mounting bolts. Tighten the mounting bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
4. Engage the solenoid wiring connector onto the starter terminal.
5. Connect the B+ wire and tighten the retaining nut to 90 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
8. Verify starter motor operation.

Disengage the solenoid wiring connector, then the battery positive (B+) nut and wire from the starter motor



Remove the 3 starter motor-to-transaxle bellhousing mounting bolts



Remove the starter motor from the vehicle


The starter relay is located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) in the engine compartment. Refer to the underside of the PDC cover for starter relay location.
