Recently replaced the Lamp and Filter, worked great for a few weeks. Now, the color red is very dark, almost black. Settings for color, contrast, brightness and all other settings related have been reset and adjusted. Changes do occur, but the color red doesn't change, always dark.
You didn't provide age of your projector, but it likely is about dead, and not worth fixing again.

In short If the reds show as red, The greens show as green & Blue shows as blue. I would say thats as good as it can project. It's hard to judge color without seeing it for ones self but usually DLP projectors that use a colorwheel do not have perfect color.

I think that projector used three different LCD panels with red, blue and yellow. You probably have a damaged red LCD panel, and if so, it is not worth getting the projector fixed. Those panels were really expensive back then.
I once had that red problem with a projector and it turned out to be a bad connection on one end of the "computer to projector" cable. Borrow one from a friend and see if it solves the problem.

Hi,
After replacing lamp, connect projector AC power cord and turn the projector in standby mode.
Press following keys on control panel for less then 5 seconds each..
RESET, <==, ==>, ENTER.
That will reset lamp timer in projector.

if you remove the lamp, inside the lamp housing you will see a refraction (fly-eye) lens. these evenly distribute the lamp light. the one on the other side from the one you see (there are always 2 lenses) is probably burnt and needs replacing (a common problem with lcd projectors). you will have to send it in to nec. in many of their projectors, both lenses are in one assembly.
