Since Microsoft got involved Skype has been having a LOT of issues. Delete Skype and redownload the file. When you log back on all your stuff will still be there. If it still locks up it may be a SKYPE browser button that's gone bad tripping up the main app. I hav a remnant in Chrome where I can have Skype closed but if someone calls the alarm tones go off, but no way to answer. GIANT pain in the ***.
You can try this. STEP 1: Set Program protect and Combi Protect to OFF. - GLOBAL - Using PAGE+ or PAGE-, find untill the display show "3A-MEMORY PROTECT". Set the parameter to OFF by using YES or NO button. STEP 2: Data Load. - GLOBAL. - Using PAGE+ or PAGE-, find untill the display show "05A-PRESET DATA". Change ALL to PRG (your case). That blinking cursor is the way in which the BIOS is telling you that Windows or any other OS is missing . Since you are getting it without even an hdd connected it means that the southbridge is defective. Which means that the motherboard is dead, replace it.
