my email address for facebook was terminated a few months ago because it was a college email address. now i have a new email address and because my password has been reset i can't access my old email address to retrieve it.

I have the exact problem...I was wiped out of Facebook. I am hoping they can help me. When I went on to another account- I deactivated it and told them the situation and then, added the link from one of my previous emails that had all kinds of numbers in it. me and my partner were both creating facebook accounts using the same e-mail address. My partner finnished creating her account/profile before me and as such registered first. I initially completed the first stage of the sign up process (where I recieved confirmation to my email address and a link to finnish the application process) and now wish to finalise so as to become a member and start using the site but everytime I click on the link to facebook website my partners account with my email address automatically comes up (as if by default) meaning I am unable to complete my application and as such are still unable to use facebook. I tried starting again from the beginning but again as soon as I reach the website its my parters account which pops up. me and my partner were both creating facebook accounts using the same e-mail address. Same problem - so frustrating!! I signed up, added friends, chatted and everything. I logged out and went to log back in and was told invalid user/password. After much failure of trying to get back in, I clicked on the original Activation link they sent in the original email. It created a duplicate account linked to my same email, completely empty of friends, etc. Now I can see my original 'self' when I search my name but can't even add myself as a friend as I can't confirm I know my second self because my first self can't get in to confirm. Ridiculous!! I still get emails from my original profile saying people are adding me, writing, etc. and I can't do a thing about it. I wrote FB a few times and got one email back saying they had reset the password and all should be solved. I used the new password and it just took me back to the second empty account. If anyone gets resolution on this, PLEASE let us know!

Facebook gives me an error message that my email is not registered. I have been on Facebook for several weeks now and still receive notices when someone posts something on my page. However I cannot sign in.

I am currently having the same problem. A second account using the same email as mine ( stupid--my mistake) now has superceded my original account! I changed the email for the second account but still can not access my own account. I have the same problem as glennawis. I can see my own profile but can't access it. I too re-registered (I know, I know - shouldn't have done) but the deactivated it when I realised my mistake. They said that they would still send it to facebook but I'm guessing this means that facebook doesn't have to fix it? Can you tell me what you told them (TRUSTe) to get it fixed?

I believe each account can only be assigned to one email address. when you sign up a new account and try to use an e mail account or user name it should give an error message that is already registered.
