My logitech 'performance laser' wireless mouse, after sitting idle for year, is not working with new battery. intermittent blinking green light suggests it's on, but no laser light The usb connector is recognized by the laptop, but the mouse does not talk to it. how can i troubleshoot this to see if it's worth keeping or not?
SOURCE: wireless mouse not responding. Can you help??
Specs say keyboard has 2 AA batteries and the mouse has 2 AAA batteries. Try sliding off half of the top of the mouse to replace the batteries.
If this helps, please rate this solution. Thank you.

HELLO, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO DOWN LOAD THE SOFT WARE THEN PLUG IN THE USB AND AFTER THAT ON YOUR RECIEVER CLICK THE CONNECT BUTTON ON THE RECIEVER TILL IT RECONIZES BOTH KEY BOARD AND MOUSE I HAVE THE LOGITECH WIRELESS SYSTEM AND I LOVE IT TILL THE BATTERIES GO OUT ON THE MOUSE OR KEY BOARD LOL THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.

If this is a cordless Optical mouse it uses a red optical beam to sense the surface below it. This is how it moves the pointer. If this is the same mouse/keyboard combo I have it does not have any other lights on the mouse itself.
It is quite annoying when its dark in the room since the bottom is somewhat transparent.
