switch on the machine wait till error appears on panel, go to the system open internet explorer type IP address enter you can view the entire printer over view.. check which print head showing faulty, ask to replace the head open top cover of the printer open print head cover remove print heads clean print head contact pcb as well as carriage contacts insert print heads back then check for the print head recognition, printer will perform its own priming and all wait till ready mode comes onece ready mode appears.. print heads are OK.. if not replace faulty print head/s.Most of the cases cleaning is enough.
Star wheel motor unit faulty, most of the cases I found star wheel motor gear pinion are damaged,see the snap shot for the reference..Simply replace star wheel gear assm. Removing star wheel motor. Remove left cover,formatter, spittoon,star wheel..Pl see the snap shot to under stand how to remove star wheel unit... Perform star wheel test after replacing the unit....

You have to disassemble the printer and clean the prisms inside the black box within the printer. The prism for the red and yellow colors are near the bottom and face up, so they easily collect dust buildup, thereby causing weak or striped printing of these colors.
When you go to print. In the box that say's print with printer/presets there's another that say's copies and pages, scroll down to Color Management. Then you will see a Off (No Color Adjustment). Try that and also in the same dialog box is Print Settings that's where you put your paper type selection. Hope this helps
the basic causes for this problem is either the foil is bad or weak. secondly the element in the fuser unit doesnt heat properly so try replacing it with a working one n see what happends.
