If you have a Hitachi remote HL02121, that means your TV model number is either 32PD7800 or 42PD7800.
According to the Owner's Manual the HDMI connector is activated by going to AV6.
While in the TV mode on the remote, press the '' button with the AV6 above it. That will tell the TV to use the HDMI input.
IF you don't have access to the TV remote, there are INPUT SELECTION buttons on the TV near the Lower Left hand Corner of the cabinet. Press the INPUT SELECTION button until AV6 is displayed on the screen (HDMI Input)
No need to understand - just read the message, It clearly states that the unit will not accept that particular signal because its electronics are not configured to deal with it. And that is it - end of story.
Basically, you cannot force a square peg into a round hole.
If you mean watch what you see on your laptop on your TV, then you need to connect an HDMI cable or S-Video cable (depending on what sort of ports you have) from your laptop to your TV, then select the appropriate input on your TV or TV remote. For example if connected via HDMI and your TV has 2 HDMI inputs (ie. HDMI 1 and HDMI 2), select which one you connected to.
Might some how got that HDMI input port shorted?Tries tv unplug and that HDMI cable input it into another HDMI port, replug tv back about an hour later. So the tv resetting itself back to factory setting.Tv on goto tv menu, goto tv PICTURE SETTING going down to do resetting. This should resetting the whole tv Tuner signal board. These steps, should help ur tv HDMI ports functions again.
First, verify that your computer is sourcing video through the HDMI port rather than looking for an input from it.
What happens if you try to select an HDMI input on the TV with no HDMI cable connected? It should select the port, then complain about "No signal." If you get that, turn off the TV and computer, connect the HDMI cable, turn on the TV first, then the computer.
There are certain HDMI input chips on the market that are very vulnerable to static electricity damage, and some cheap HDMI switches will conduct a static discharge from the switch mechanism to the HDMI lines (a friend blew two chips that way, then he realized both times the input went out when he used the switch). Use a direct cable connection if possible, and avoid putting a fingertip into the free end of an HDMI cable when the other end is the only one connected. Symptoms of static electricity damage may include "no signal" when an active signal source is connected, or some sort of data format error message. I don't know if your TV is programmed to lock out bad ports; I would think there would be some sort of fault indication to go with the lockout.
Either the hdmi input has a bad capacitor or the cables are bad. You can try different cables or connections. If the result is the same, then the input on tv is bad probably due to faulty capacitor
Digital inputs on Aquos TV's are "always on," usually the HDMI inputs and DVI inputs. As opposed to analog inputs 1, 2, or 3, are only activated once something is plugged in. Try plugging in another HDMI sources into input4 or 5, if its still not working, the TV needs a new Main Board. Try calling Sharp 1-800-237-4277 and locating a local service center in your area.
