Why won't my Toshiba Satellite L655 laptop connect trough HDMI anymore?

Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite L655 that runs Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Until today I connected the laptop trough HDMI to my LG LED TV. Suddenly the TV doesn't receive any signal. I have checked the fallowing and know to be ok: 1. HDMI cable and HDMI TV ports are fine ( checked with Xbox 360 ) 2. Display card driver ( rolled it back and update it ) Any ideas? Thank you!

Try pressing the appropriate function button to change the screen from internal to external. Possibly F4?

I forgot to add to my initial comment that I have tried the FN function and to no result ( it's FN+F5 i think but to be sure I pressed the F4 too )

Check the settings; desktop then right mouse click, choose resolution and ensure it is the correct setting.

The resolution is ok, it's set to the recomanded value for the Mobile PC Display. The problem is that when I connect the HDMI cable the laptop doesn't even recognize the TV display. In the past i was able to set the TV display as primary and set any resolution I wanted ( 1080p for example ). After i disconected the HDMI cable the PC display wold kick as primary and the resolution would automaticaly turn down to 1366x768 as recommended.

SOURCE: can i connect toshiba satellite a205 to tv?

Yes VGA carries RGBHV--RGB and Horizontal and Vertical Sync information along with DDC info where available.

Now is that port on your TV a d-sub 15 pin standard VGA connector?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

If it is, then yeah you should be able to output VGA from a PC to the TV with a proper cable.

However if the TV has DVI or HDMI connections on it, it's better for you to connect it that way. DVI/HDMI is a digital signal and if it's a digital-based display tech TV, then you're better off using that. Also if the TV does resolution above 1360x768 (i.e. if it does 1080p) you can get higher resolution by going via DVI/HDMI...

SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite L310 problem , display cannot appears

If the screen went blank after the driver install, sometimes clicking the mouse on the screen will bring the picture back. It sounds like the monitor is having a conflict with the resolution the driver is throwing out. Reboot the laptop and when you see the Toshiba splash screen, tap F8 until you see the multiple boot menu. Scroll to Safe Mode with networking and reboot. If the screen comes up, go to the control panel > System > hardware > display adapter > click on the plus sign and double click the reported adapter.click on driver tab and select roll back driver > click yes to any prompts and click ok. Reboot normally and see if that clears the problem.

Most of the drivers are available on toshiba website but looks like your laptop may not be compatible with windows 7. You will probably end up changing laptop or stay with xp if you don't see them on toshiba support area.

L655 Satellite won't start up.

For this kind of issue, please follow up the following steps to check:

1.confirm the battery and ac adapter connect the laptop normally.Maybe the bad connect lead to this problem. If there are no lights when you turn on laptop, one of possible reason is that your adapter is malfunction.

2.the second possible cause is laptop dc jack failure. If the dc jack is broken or loose, you are required to replace it or repair it.

3.Another possible reason is that there is something wrong with laptop motherboard. For this situation, it includs two kinds of possibility,a failure in an electronic circuit and BGA malfunction.

For more detailed reasons and solutions, please have a look at the following article:http://www.ifitjams.com/lappower.htm

Where did you get your drivers from? Make sure the drivers are compatible with Windows XP, Vista/7 drivers generally won't work. You can probably get the XP drivers from Toshiba's website.
