How can I change desktop icon

there is no setting in bios for that
That will be an update in win 7 program and as win 7 is no longer supported , you may have to change to win 10 to get it

Go to the laptop maker's web site and look for a restore CD.
If you don't find one there, send them an email and explain your problem.
A Google search with the laptop make and model and the words "restore CD" might work.
Last resort is format the hard drive and re-install the Operating system.
Most laptops do not come with an OS cd, but the license key is on the bottom.

Download the appropriate Windows 7 .ISO file which includes Service Pack 1

Is this in Device Manager? Did you notice this after the Win 7 upgrade? If so , it's a common problen when upgrading, Is that the only issue? Your Card Reader work? Modem? Co-processor? I have a HP Pavilion DV9320us I loaded Win 7 64bit Ultimate on with similar issues, modem, co-processor, card reader, etc. Use the Win Vista drivers, modify the drivers for Win 7. Boot with a Win 7 disc, and choose Repair Your Computer. Then use Startup Repair option.


If this does not work, use the Re-install Windows option. This should install on top and not wipe out.


A free legal Windows image can be downloaded. Check the MS Product Key sticker for what version your system came with. You may have to use your key. IT MUST BE THE SAME VERSION

Download correct version and burn onto DVD to use.

You need to right click on the desktop icon and set it to run with windows XP, this should take care of the problem

I am running Win 7 but if you right click on the desktop, select the last item on the menu and select desktop icons you can change the icon for the full and empty pics of the recycle bin.
