How do I find where my device has gone?

I connected my device & it showed up in my computer. I then moved a folder of pictures to the device & these showed up as well. However when I went back to my pictures folder to move more across, the device is no longer visible in the drop down 'send to' & has also vanished from 'my computer' Please can you suggest what I might do next? Thank you

Try another USB port on your computer? And securely connect the connectors to the external drive and into the computer. Restore computer to a date when it was working fine with this drive.

Testimonial: "Thanks, I have tried a different USB port & it is making no difference. As I have only plugged the device in today I do not have a previous date to restore to. Should I assume that it's the device that is not working properly?"

Try another cable and make sure any lights on the external drive are on and change colors from red/orange to eventually green after you plug it in. If lights are there and don't light up then it is a cable / device problem.

Where has my storage device gone?

First, reboot your computer; does the external drive reappear in My Computer ?

Go to DiskManagement (Start>Computer (right click)>Management>DiskManagement. Does the disk show up there ?

Check your USB system (Start>Computer (right click)>Properties>DeviceManager>USB controllers inW7; XP same except choose Hardware>DeviceManager); is a Mass Storage Device shown there ? Is the USB 'eject' icon shown on the system tray at the bottom right of your screen (small greenish square) ? If not, then suspect a connection problem. If your computer is recognizing the disk in your USB system but not in the other tools, your drivers may be corrupted. This simple to fix (report back if this seems to be the case)
Check your USB cable is plugged in at both ends. Try a new/different cable. The cable should be as short as possible. Try a different USB socket on your computer. Verify that the cable isn't loose in the disk housing. USB 3.0 connections have often been reported to be mechanically weak and susceptible to breakage. If the socket on external drive is broken, then a return to manufacturer/retailer and replacement may be necessary. Often a consequence of this is loss of data. ALWAYS KEEP BACK-UPs.

When I connect it to the computer I can view all folders but the screen on the device is not projected the picture

While the frame is connected to a computer, the screen will be inactive. The purpose of connecting it to a computer is only to move files from your computer to the drive on the frame. Once you eject the frame from the computer and turn the frame on, the screen should come back on.

Was using my 1TB and then all memory (pictures) dissapeared. Still shows memory used/available, just all the files are gone.

Those files are hidden folders.
For that connect it to computer then open my computer go to tools menu->folder option.
then click view tab enable "show hidden files and folders" and disable check box of "hide system files" then apply then you can see your files as hidden folder.
then open it then copy all files to local drive also scan computer and harddrive with updated antivirus because it (harddrive) is infected of virus.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

How do i add photos to my nwz-e344

Hi,

Connect the Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player to your computer using the device's USB sync cable. Wait until your computer detects the MP3 player.

Click the "Start" icon in the taskbar. Click "My Computer."

Double-click "Removable Disk." This will open the root storage directory of your MP3 player, which is where all its files are stored. Locate the "Photos" folder inside this directory.

Drag-and-drop pictures from your computer into the Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player Photos folder: Click on a picture file and hold down the mouse button while moving the file to the Photos folder, then release the mouse button to copy the picture to the folder. You can now view these pictures on your Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player.

If your Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player does not support photo viewing, you can still add pictures to the device. Drag-and-drop the pictures anywhere within the root storage directory. You can transfer the pictures to another computer or any USB-compatible device.

Good luck.

I want to dowload some picture from usb on the picture frame

you probably have 2 possibilities..
1st ) is to insert the stick ..(card with the picture on ...and choose to play the slide show from it )
2nd) is to connect it to the computer ...and after that the computer will recognize it ..and you will find it in my computer folder by its name or as a removable device (this mostly in case it has a card attached)
Open the folder and inside you will be able to see the pictures that are already there ...top Load pictures just drag and drop pictures in this folder or copy and paste them..after that you will be able to see them on the frame ...make some slide shows with different folders ..or just play all..and it will change them on a preset time ..
Same thing for Mac..bu the frame will be visible on desktop..and same just copy pictures into it(be sure you do not cut them cause you will loose from computer this way ..so ..just copy ..and paste into the frame's folder

Can't download pictures from camera to computer

I expect that somewhere down the line the camera was plugged in and the message was ignored, and told to never show this again. Assuming you are using windows you can do one of two things:
1). Click start button, computer, and look at the devices with removable storage. Hopefully your camera is there. If not we have another problem. you can then browse the camera just like any other disk with folders, find your photos and copy/cut/move them into your pictures folder.

2). We can change the settings of your computer so that it will prompt you what to do each time the camera is plugged in.
In order to do this open control panel, select classic view on the left side. Click on default programs icon, and select change auto play settings. Scrolling to the bottom should show devices connected to the computer. you can then use the pull down box beside the cameras name to set what you want to do each time it is plugged in.

Hope this helps. If I am way off base here please let me know.
