The message comes up since Microsoft believes that the product key being used by your copy of windows is invalid.
If you are 100% sure it is valid then contact Microsoft directly & they can provide you with a fix.
Otherwise if you are not sure or don't want to contact Microsoft there are other options, like those listed here. Just use them at your own risk, since there are penalties for using pirated software.

SOURCE: i am a victim of software counterfeiting

Well I had tough time finding soloution for it, but found a way after going through many blogs, its obvious that we are not using genuine MS OS, but we can go for it to solve the problem altogether .The following steps are used to get rid of the Messagge "you are a victim of software counterfeiting" nagging at the desktop.Which happens to be outcome of Automatic updates "turned on" when you are conneted to internet. It worked on my computer and I dont have the message popping up anymore.I hope that you will find much help.
STEP 1

Turn off Automatic Updates

Clilck on START ->Settings-->Control panel ->Automatic updates (Select TURN OFF)

STEP 2

Goto My computer C drive select the folder ->Windows-->system32-->chek for a file WGATRAY.EXE (there r similar dll files named WGA * make sure ur selecting the correct one. The Icon is star shaped, similar to notification icon. This ICON would't delete).

STEP 4

Rename the file deleting the .exe extension and adding some number to filename (ex:Rename WGATRAY.EXE to WGATRAY22) make sure u remember the file name after renaming.

STEP 5

Delete the Renamed file (ex: wgatray22).It falls in Recycle bin.

STEP 6

Reboot the computer.

And chek there will be no message popping up on desktop !!!!

u might experience Black background screen, u can change the themes of your computer to different one from Control panel ==>display.(OR) Right click on Desktop-->properties-> themes

(I myself turned on Automatic updates to see any changes , it did not bring up any mesage later but not sure in future.)

Hope this article is helpful to folks!!!

Try this site to download crack for genuine windows validation:
http://depositfiles.com/en/files/2951056

or if it really worst and your computer is lock by the program then you can re install your operating system then after you finished installing your new Operationf System then diable the Automatic Updates  by accessing to your control panel then click Security Center then Automatic Updates and click diable or turn off Automatic Updates. In that way you can prevent your computer from downloading Updates from Microsoft and prevent downloads of other Windows validation program.

SOURCE: you may be a victim of software counterfeiting.

Whenever you get a genuine windows validation error you must contact Microsoft to find out why you get the message.

Temporarily you can get rid of the message doing a System Restore to a date before the genuine windows validation error appeared for the first time.

To do system restore you can go to
Start button>Programs>Accessories>System tools>System Restore.

"You may be a victim

Welcome to FixYa!

If you're seeing notifications that the copy of Windows that is installed on your PC might not be genuine, or that you might be a victim of counterfeit software, it's likely that your copy of Windows was not properly activated or is otherwise not genuine. To fix this, click the notification and follow the steps to either repair Windows or-if you have inadvertently obtained counterfeit software-buy genuine Windows.

If you are using Windows XP, download and install the Windows Genuine Advantage Notification Application. It will scan your operating system and will remove the annoying message if it's a legitimate copy of windows.

Keep me posted.
