Microsoft LifeCam 2.07 installation error

Bought brand new LifeCam VX-5000, with CD of LifeCam 2.07 software. Have tried many times to just load the software WITHOUT connecting the camera and always get "unexpected error" and installation terminates. This is very frustrating - not much on the web on this problem. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hello

First of all check the minimum requirements(hardware , like RAM , processer etc.) to install the software .

Second , check are you logged in with the administrator rights.

Third , check if camera software is compatible with your current operating system.

Microsoft Lifecam vx-5000 video distorted
The drivers dont seem to have been loaded properly. Uninstall the webcam and reboot. Reinstall the drivers and reboot. Connect the webcam and allow mac to detect the webcam and load drivers. Then go to Skype and from tools->Options go to Video. there set the webcam as the default camera.

I kept getting a problem as the installer kept going around and around and sussed out it was the windows installer file, apparently there is an issue with sp3 installer files. Download this XP windows installer hotfix - worked from me

scroll down and find any programs that the cam software may have installed
then restart and try installing again
plug in cam when asked
make sure you have no other programs running during install
also make sure your cam is compatible with os

Microsoft lifecam vx-5000 problem with image
Normal 0 Probably has corrupt driver.
Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
