How to dissasemble

This is a general response but I have found most of them to be the same way. Take off all panels and access doors that you know come off. On the bottom or side of the unit you will see deep hole molded into the body. If you flash a light down you will see a screw head with a Phillips head or Torx bit. You will need a long screw driver with that bit on it or an extension that will fit. There will most likely be about 6 of those to remove.

Brush wheel not spinning

it can be belt or clutch failed. put the vac on its side and on the bottom there will be either two push clips or 2 screws remove them or push them and pull the bottom off. then when this is off you will see were the belt is for the spinning brush. if the belt is still on then the clutch has gone in the motor if the belt has gone take out the broken part and get a new belt, fitting new belt you need to remove the spinning brush it is either clipped in or slotted in , clipped is push the clips out to the side and lift the brush out, slotted it will just pull out. clean out the brush before putting back in also check the brushes bearing to make sure it moves easy as a failed bearing do to carpet string etc can burn the belt, any belt that has been burnt in this way should be removed and changed as it will damage the hover if still used after this part has been cleaned replace all parts and then turn on dont and it pluged in mains while you are doing this and dont use until it has all been fitted back..

How do i replace the release lever on a hoover windtunnel

This is definitely one of those "easy when you know how" things. No screws or plates or anything to remove. It is a case of getting the old one out and slipping in the new part:

The part clips in so you need to unclip the old (broken) one to get it out.

You need a small flat head screw driver to unclip the old one. You come into the opening via the UNDERSIDE of the vac as in pic one. You will release it and pull the old part out via the top side.

Below is a pic of the removed (broken) part. The arrows show the two round nipple like ends and these are what you need to release using the screw driving (and then pulling the part out the top).

e1c26214-59d7-4753-941e-66438ae4693b.jpg

Once you have the old part out the new one is slid in via the TOP of vacuum and clicks into place

This next pic gives you an idea of what you are trying to achieve.
The RED arrows are the new part in place. The YELLOW arrow shows what the "two round nipples" click into.

Sorry the pics are not better.

Do not know what to do when the service required light is on on a Alpine LIVING AIR XL15 IONIC AIR PURIFIER OZONE XL 15. How do I service it?

Hi JoAnn,

Alpine purifiers need periodic cleaning, as dust and dirt from air moving through the unit is electrostatically deposited on internal components; enough build-up can cause short-circuits and diminished peformance. The ozone-discharge plates need to be cleaned monthly, and the inside wiped down at that time. The lint trapscreen on the back also needs to be cleaned (I use hot water in my kitchen sink with the spray-nozzle). I recommend an old toothbrush dipped in household ammonia for scrubbing the plates, and an old sock dampened with ammonia for wiping the inside spaces. The ammonia fumes can be unpleasant, so if you can do this outside or in garage, do so. Also, rinse the plates thoroughly to remove any ammonia residue. Just make sure the discharge plates are COMPLETELY BONE-DRY before putting them back in, otherwise, you risk shorts, and potential damage to the plate. Use the toothbrush without the ammonia (preferably dry) to dust-off the sensor in back that triggers the "service required" light. Iif it's like the ones I've worked-on, it should be connected to another light inside, but I recommend checking your owners manual to help identify the location and description of the sensor.

About once a year, a thorough cleaning (using a brush to get the accumulated gunk out of the nooks and crannies) is recommended). This involves disconnecting the fan leads and (if so-equipped) the needle-point ionier after removing the four screws through the bottome holding the chassis in-place. If you're not comfortable working with wiring and spade-terminals, you may want to use a keyboard vaccuum brush (long-necked tube with a brush on the end available in office-supply stores and the like) to reach in instead.

If this helps, please rate me... thanks!

Blueaire 501 dust caked up on wires and fan,how do you take it apart to clean it?

Hi, I have had the same problem and have figured out how to open it.

To open your blueair air purifier, follow the steps below;
1. Get a phillips head screwdriver,
2. Open the unit and remove the air filters.
3. Use the phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that you can see.
4. After taking out the screws, remove the "galvanizedSwedish steel housing"
(cream coloured sides) of the purifier by lifting it upwards (i.e. from bottom to top of unit).
4. You will now have access to the interior of the purifier.
5. You can now take out the fan and clean it, or what ever part you are trying to clean. I used a Dyson HEPA vacuum cleaner.
6. To reassemble, reverse the instructions above to reassemble the purifier.

I want to take my ecoquest fresh air apart to clean it, but do not know how, i have misplaced the manual

Unplug the machine and unscrew the phillips head screw on the back grill of the machine, that is just above the plug. There are depressions on the sides of the back grill that has a plastic tang that hold the back grill to the machine. Press the back grill inwards to allow the tangs to clear the sidee and the back grill should now be easily removed. Remove the two thumb screws on the top corners to remove the filter. Once the filter is removed, then you can remove the purification plate and remove the two screws that hold the RCI cell. The RCI cell and filter can be cleaned by vacumming out the dust and dirt.

The purification plate can be cleaned with a old toothbrush and a water and amonia solution. Scrub the metal grid with the toothbrush. Do both sides and then rinse with water, allow it to dry completely before reinstalling the plate. After every part is cleaned reassemble the purifier, and plug it in. Then press the reset reminder button on the front of the keypad to clear the "perform cleaning" message. This message will appear again after the purifier runs for 30 days to remind you to clean the purifier. Hope this helps you.

I do not know how to clean it. It is called Fresh

The Fresh Air has a reminder on the LCD to Perform Cleaning. This reminder will display if the purifier runs for 30 days. When this reminder is displayed perform the following steps to clean your purifier.

1. Cleaning the Case:

Wipe the unit with a soft cloth dampened with water. Do not use chemicals or solvents. Vacuum the front and rear grills to remove any lint buildup.

2. To clean the lint screen, RCI cell and purification plate:

3. To remove the back cover:

Remove the plug from the back of the unit. Unscrew the screw above the plug socket on the back cover. To remove the back cover, press the back sides of the back cover to unlatch and tilt the bottom of the back cover to remove.

4. To remove the rear lint screen:

Remove the two thumbscrews holding the top of the lint screen. Remove the lint screen by pulling back the top of the screen, then lift it up and out.

5. Removing the RCI cell:

Remove the RCI cell connector by pressing the connector locking tabs. Pull the connector straight out to unplug.
Remove the RCI cell by removing the two thumbscrews. Slide the RCI cell down and out of the unit.

6. Cleaning the RCI Cell:

Remove the RCI cell and carefully vacuum accumulated lint. Do not wash the RCI cell. Damage from water may result.

7. Rear lint screen cleaning:

You have two options

  1. When visibly dirty, simply remove the rear lint screen from the unit and with a duster attachment on a vacuum, remove the heavy particulate.
  2. In addition to step 1, the filter can be washed with hot water (do not use soap). Allow to dry prior to reinstalling. Replace if damaged.

8. Cleaning the Purifier Plate:

Remove the plate from the card cage by grasping the middle edge nearest to you, and slowly pull it straight out. Clean with mixture of one part water and one part ammonia. Place plate and ammonia mixture in a dish and allow it to soak for no more than 10 minutes. Remove plate and scrub with a toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and air dry for 24 hours or use a blow dryer to dry thoroughly.

After all parts have been cleaned and are thoroughly dry, reinstall components in reverse order. Turn the purifier on, and on the key pad, press the reminder Reset button to clear the Perform Cleaning message.
