I have changed out my black ink cartridge and now it says Attention: Print head loose, missing or not installed correctly.

Had exactly the same issue - working fine until ink cartridge changed (kodak for kodak - not a copy). Then can only get 'print head error message'.
Multiple attempts to remove and re-install, power on/off etc. but can't shift the error message. New print head more expensive than a new printer!

Error message "to print in color, install the following cartridges:" continually comes up after installing new cartridge.

on ours the cartridges click twice to be fully seated..there are 4 cartridges in this one.. if one is not all the way down, it will error..in extreme cases if all the cartridges are in place..unplug the unit and reboot it..

HP C6180. I think the Black color print head is clogged. How to remove the print head for cleaning?

The print heads in the C6180 are not removable.
I would suggest getting an 02 XL black cartridge and an 02 Photo Value Pack (because it includes all colors plus photo paper for much less than the cost of the color cartridges separately ... and YES the are FULL 02 cartridges!) and run several head cleaning sessions from the setup menu.
It should do a deeper cleaning each successive time you run the same cleaning, so run 3 black head cleanings in a row (3 is the deepest).
Then disconnect the power from the unit, press and hold the # and the 6.
While holding the keys, reconnect the power to the unit until you see a reset message or until the unit turns itself back off.
If the unit turns itself back off, release the keys and press the power button.
The unit will gyrate and click and whir for quite some time and eventually settle in to a ready state.
At this point, you should be out some ink, but the unit should be printing again.
If it isn't, there really isn't anything you can do.
You can call HP at 1-800-HP-Invent and ask about their trade-in/trade up options for this model.
You can get really good deals on current model printers by trading in your defective unit !
Usually you will have a choice of about 3 replacement trade in (if the C6180 can be replaced with another C6180) / trade up (equal or better models) for your specific printer.

Failure to print from computer in colour

I have a similiar issue that just started happening recently - the printer shows FULL inks but the PC thinks it has empty inks. I tried the * #, 123 reset hardware failures, but that didnt help. Printer run self diagnostics says all is fine....

I am using USB connections - and this has been fine for years, until now. Maybe a microsoft patch issue?

I received an error message that ink cartridges needed replacing. I replaced the ones stated and checked the ink levels on the computer. The report is that the ones replaced are at 100% and the others have...

If you are using refilled (worst cartridges) or third party cartridges then that is most likely the problem.

If you are using factory new HP cartridges, then you need to contact HP to get the cartridges replaced.

Hp 6150 won't print clearly --new cartridges are in

Clean the print head if you suspect that the nozzles might be clogged. Cleaning the print head consumes ink, so perform print head cleaning only when necessary.

Hope this initial info/idea helps.

Won't print at all

You can try cleaning the contacts of the cartridge. Try doing a special reset also. This reset can only be done once. While the printer is on, unplug the power cord directly at the back of the printer. The printer completely turns off. Press and hold the # and 6 buttons on the keypad of the printer. Do not release the buttons as you plug in back the power cord. The printer turns on automatically. Just keep on holding the buttons until the printer screen goes black or it turns off again. You may release the button by this time. Turn on the printer again. It resets the printer into factory settings. After you have turned on the printer, do not do anything on it. Wait for the printer to reinitialize and it will prompt the message printer preparation occuring do not interrupt. It will prompt you to select language and then country. It will prompt you to align the printer. After doing all the steps, try to make a copy to check the functionality of the printer. Pls follow the steps accordingly. You can just do these reset once.

Empty ink cartridge message

I replaced the old cartridge with a new one (Magenta) and it still asks me to replace it with a new cartridge.
For 1 colour which is LOW, it stopped me completely from PRINTING or COPYING at all.
Any clues how to fix this?
