Omnitech 14 sheet shredder is jammed and won't take paper less than year old tried to call omnitech support and get no answer just recording that they are closed any ideas

Unplug it, open it up and clear the jam, reassemble and give it a try, and try not to shred too many pages at once and make sure that you empty the lower part so it doesn't pick up already shredded material and jam up again.

What us the limited warranty on the omnitech 10 sheet cross-cut shredder

It should tell you in the manual but i'm guessing it's that it'll not want thick card, dvds or ties in the shredder

What is the website of the omnitech company ?

Isn't that the one that FatWallet.com was saying Staples was selling for $20 with free shipping?

Anyway, If you look on the UL label, there should be a phone number to call. (If yours doesn't have it, call 800-675-4481.)

Someone on Amazon had one where the green light came on, but nothing happened. The tech told him the sensor had to be reinitialized. Told him to turn it off, put in a thick paper (birthday card thickness) and turn it back on. He wrote that it worked and runs fine now. (But he still is not happy with it.)

I just bought the Omnitech 10 Sheet Cross Cut Shredder. Is it safe to shred papers with staples in them?

I don't have that model but have an 8 page cheapo shredder. It takes CDs, credit cards and staples with no whining.

Omnitech only runs in reverse

In the middle of feed opening there is a sensor which in your case will be stuck. Try clear it using tweezers. Failing that soak the blockage up excessively with WD-40 as it will loosen and soften stuck paper leave it for 10-15 minutes, repeat 2-3 times. Then power on the unit and it should be good as new! Good luck
