Hi My 2001 Audi 1.8T Avante won't start. I disconnected the battery. It drove perfectly minutes before disconnection. Doors open and close with key and not with remote. Now everything else works perfectly, except it won't start.
Disconnect battery again for 24 hrs to clear memory. try again if that doesnt work you may have an immobilizer problem

If car Convenience Control Module(module that control key remote) lose power- remote adaptation to the car will be lost. This apply to some Audi models.
What you can try to do is:
1. Disarm alarm manually by opening door lock with the key
2. Put key into ignition and turn to on position (don't start the car)
3. Press few times remote button (with the ignition in on position)
Depends on your year model it my work (works on the newer models), if not you have to go to the dealership to program your keys.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Locked 2001 Camry, remote wont work, doors locked, no other key
I have a 2003 camry had the same problem. My solution was to raise the drivers door handle then turned the key and then it opened.
Now connect an small light between the +
terminal and the clamp. Put the clamp on a rag so it can't touch the sheet
metal. If any drain is present the light will glow. Or you can check the amount
of drain with an small ammeter. An drain of 1-2 Watts can be tolerated. Next
pull the fuse for the mechanic clock and the radio. Still any current flowing
(light on)?
Ok, so you really have a problem. Now start
pulling the fuses in the fuse box one by one until the light goes off. This is
the circuit in which the problem lies. Check your manual or the indications in
the cover of the fuse box to see which systems are connected to that
fuse.
The next steps depend on the systems
concerned. Try disconnecting each one of the parts connected in the circuit.
Again it's the same - when the light goes out you've found the
problem.
Even better than a light bulb is an buzzer.
Many people have one of those annoying little rascals lying around. Use
it. good-day !
