Active sync issue

You will need to provide more information.

Are you trying to login to a windows account on the laptop? If so that account might be synced with a microsoft account (windows 8+) and if it has internet connection you can log into your microsoft account from another computer or reset the password and it will sync with your laptop (again if it has an active internet connection)

hi try re-flashing the unit, do a search on google for MC909X os update look for the links to motorola support site. you should find all you need there. word of warning only flash the unit with the correct version of windows or you could be in trouble. also you can connect the unit to active sync though the cradle and remove all the files in startup folders. and look for the application that is starting and delete it. what application is it? if its wavelink try exit passwords: leave symbol system one of the above normaly works.

Drivers are included with the microsoft software you use to sync eg.
Windows Mobile Device Centre. WMDC.
Or
Microsoft active sync.

You can get 32 bit version of WMDC ...HERE... 64 bit ...HERE...
and Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 ...HERE...

Although Microsoft seem to be having issues with the connection of HTC's to their software and their help department doesn't appear to be much help.

If you already have the software installed. Try uninstalling and downloading fresh copies and re-install.
Also make sure you clear your partnerships in your phone as HTC only allow 2 sync partnerships.

if u've windows 7,try windows mobile device center.also try using different USB ports 4 partnership.

You need to have active sync in your computer to connect pda to computer

Download Active sync from link and install to Pc .you can connect pda to computer now

you also have a connection manager on the PDA Itself ( Active sync ) Try syncing from the PDA as Well As The Computer Active Sync Program.
Also make sure if you have a firewall, you allow the PDA into it as a trusted Device.

1 more thing, try on/off the PDA whilst in sync mode.

Hi, This could be due to a few issues, try these soloutions in order below: 1) If you have a jacket connected to the ipaq it could be preventing the ipaq from locating correctly on the connector. Remove jacket and try insering again. 2) Check that active sync is set up to detect the device on the usb port. The cradle for the ipaq may have a serial and usb connector. Ensure that just the usb connector is attached to your laptop. Try connecting again. 3) You may need to uninstall the USB cradle if it was connected before installing active sync. Try the following steps if this was the case: a) unplug the USB cradle b) uninstall active sync c)Click start then click control pannel then click system. Then click on the hardware tab. Look for the device under USB, right click on the device and then select uninstall. d) restart the laptop e) Install active sync f) ONLY after active sync has installed you can now plug the cradle back into the usb socket. g) Now connect the ipaq, it should now detect it.
