1st time feed dogs to raise and lower in time with the needle bar going up and down. Fit needle and slowly turn balance wheel towards you until needle is at lowest point, note where hook point is. Turn balance wheel towards you very slowly and stop when needle has risen about 3/16" from it lowest point. The hook should be immediately behind the needle and slightly above the eye.

SOURCE: How do I replace the feed shaft gears on my singer

You can buy some instructions from Terry here. I got the ones for the 413 Stylist. They are acceptable and also show how to time the machine.

Does the singer 533 have either a walking foot, a patchwork foot, or a quilting foot

You should be able to find some, if not all, of the presser feet you mention. You just need to determine what shank your machine has and make sure the presser feet you purchase have that same shank. (You may even have a snap-on adapter for your machine, so you just need to order the snap-on feet you want.)

I have a Singer Stylist 834, have rethreaded and several times and it will not stitch. It acts like its sewing but there are no stitches. Please advise.

It sounds like your machine has a broken vertical shaft gear.

Open the slide plate and, while turning the handwheel, look to see if the hook is turning under the bobbin case. If not, take it to a repair person and it should cost around $100 to replace the gear.

Bobbit thread on my Singer Stylist 457 will not catch

Pull the slide plate open and watch the hook (the rotating part under the bobbin case). It should move around with no hitch.

If it does not turn, it has a broken gear. The model 457 has a vertical shaft gear that breaks and it's easy to replace.

Back side of fabric stitch is not smooth

This is caused by inadequate tension on the top thread make sure there are no broken threads between the discs of your upper tension and it should be set on app #4
