Rock ola 460 jukebox rejects record when needle touches recorde

I have a rock Ola 460 jukebox from 1975 - until yesterday it played just fine. the problem is the prematurely rejects the record. It will pick the record from the carousal, place it on the platter, the arm will come over to the record, BUT as soon as the needle touches the record it rejects and places the record back in the carousel. it is almost like I am pressing the reject button on the back of the machine BUT I am not

SOURCE: CAn I hook up externa speakers for the jute box Rock Ola 480

That depends if you have skp out or a head phone jack .If so the RCA out jack would
have to go to the input of your amp.

or the head phone jack could directley
drive a small set speakers , the 1/4 or 1/8
head phone jack plug wire from a old
pair of head phones would be strip and
wired to small external spk , or driectly
to the auido amp But keep the volume
on the Rock Ola very low if you
chose the latter ,as not to over drive
your amp.

Rock-ola 448 jukebox skipping how to repair

The stylus might be worn or of the wrong type. A simple tone arm needs a round stylus and if an elliptical type (intended for a long S-shaped tone arm) has been fitted by mistake it could skip.

If nothing is wrong there, the remaining conclusion is either the mechanism is maladjusted or the tonearm bearing has a tight spot. In that case the tone arm should be removed and the shaft examined under strong magnification and any irregularities carefully removed, eased, blended in using a very fine abrasive (12,000 - 20,000 grit) and then ensuring the shaft and bearing is thoroughly clean apply a little very light machine oil and reassemble and readjust the playing weight...

I have a 1965 rock-ola starlet jukebox and it will not reject, gripper and record about one eight inch above turntable [email protected]

It won't reject because it needs to have the gripper arm complete the motion before the microswitches on the cam are in the right position.
It has either seized up or blown a fuse or both.
