Electrolux Model EDW5505EPS the control panel is stuck on short cycle. What problem does this indicate?

Hello ericsson1 - Typically error code E08 indicates that the control has detected a stuck or shorted key on user interface board. The wiring between main control board and user interface will need to be check by a certified professional. Depending on the diagnoses either part will need replacing. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Hello louisewith4 - I understand none of the buttons functions on the dishwasher, however try unplugging the unit or flipping the household breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and I suggest touching each button individually on keypad, does the display change or will it start? If not, I would recommend contacting a professional because the unit may possibly have a defective keypad.

Hi - Error code E01, typically indicates that a water leak has been detected under the tub. Unit may possibly need a hydraulic kit; however I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Hello - If the unit was in demo mode it would not produce any water or rinse actions. So if you have water entering the unit, I doubt it is at all in demo mode. Error E01 for Electrolux models means the unit has detected a water leak. This will need to be checked and a repair performed by a technician since they will need to repair the leak and retest unit.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

Have you tried holding the cancel button down for about 15 seconds as these units can sometimes get stuck in a cycle. Try this anyway first.

Errror 01 is a leak detector. In the base of the unit the is a sensor to check for water. If this sensor is activated it will stop the unit from running. The water must be removed, in order for the sensor to reset. It will not reset if it senses water in the base. You can remove the to toe panel, and open the center compartment where the electronic control is mounted. On the top left side there is a series of LEDs that indicate the exact nature of the error code.

Dishwasher likely has leaked into drip pan underneath. Unfortunately, you need to remove dishwasher and flip onto back and remove 3 phillips screws that hold drip pan in place. Install "leak kit" to correct leak problem with this model of dishwasher. Part number is 154769101

Maybe that the door is shut "mechanically" but the micro-switch that indicate the control unit that door is shut,is faulty.
