We have a Maytag Gas Range, Precision Touch Control 500. The oven quit heating up. When we turn it on by hitting bake and touch the temp up to 400 degrees it always stays at 100 degrees and never heats up. Everything else is working fine, the top burners work fine, the broiler works fine but still the oven does not heat up. Anyone have any suggestions?

Oven will not turn on after self cleaning has finished

If electric turn the oven to bake and look at the bottom element. If if does not turn red hot, it may be defective.
If gas, turn to bake and watch the igniter to see if it get red hot. If not, it may be defective.

Maytag precision touch control 500

Either both bake and broil elements are burnt out (highly unlikely) or your control / clock may be bad. Also check to be sure you have 220v going to unit.

Maytag precision touch control 500 electric smoothtop

The heating coils in the oven need to be inspected very carefully where they plug in to the oven wall. You will need to remove the back covers and check the insulators and wiring harnesses. Over time the insulation can break down and oxidize the metal connections. You can use a voltmeter or test light to verify that the coils are getting voltage from the thermostat/switch. replacing parts is cheaper than buying new if you can find the parts.
