when i connect my camera to my computer using USB, i can't open the camera to view the photos.

  • bobclops Nov 28, 2007

I have a similar problem. I actually got windows to recognize the camera by reinstalling the drivers, but when the windows wizard connects to download a pic from the camera, the image becomes corrupted. I should point out that I took the camera to work and had no problem using it on those computers (which are not hooked up to the internet nor has windows been updated on them). Is this possibly a windows SP2 issue?

Why do not detected my web ***

Hello!
There are several causes to camera not detected error. Are you sure your camera is installed at all?
Let's see because we have to uninstall it anyway: Start>Control Panel>Uninstall a Program
See if your camera is in the list
  • If yes: click on your camera name in the list and then click Uninstall/Change. When done, restart your computer.
Please, make sure your camera model is supported by your Operating System:
    1. See which is your Operating System: Start>double click Computer>Properties and the first in the list is "Windows Edition" under which you can see which is your your Operating System.
(Also run Windows Update/System Update which u can find by typing one of those into Start search box+Enter. If any updates available, install them and restart computer.)
    2. See your camera System Requirements: go to your camera's manufacturer's website, Click Products, choose your product and model, and they see your camera System Requirements. Which Operating Programs your camera works with? Do you use one of those?
    • If yes, then your camera can work with your Operating system and you do not have to change it.
    • If not, then your camera cannot work with your Operating System. Sometimes it works if we run update camera driver (only after installing the camera): Start>right click Computer>Manage>Device Manager and find your camera in the list, right click on it, click Update. When update done, and if updated, restart your computer. Go to Installing a Webcam.
  • If you do not find your camera in Control Panel>Uninstall a Program, then your camera is not installed on your computer. Go to Installing a Webcam.
  • Installing a Webcam: Insert camera driver CD, plug your camera if prompted, run Driver icon from the CD, Continue/Allow, and finish installing. Unplug your camera and restart your computer. I would also recommend checking for camera driver update (see above). When update finished, and installed updates, then restart your computer.
Regards!

How can i install my camera in my pc...? pls help me

your camera should come with a driver cd. Insert the cd into your cd drive, and run the software for your operating system. (windows xp, 7 whatever you are using.) If it installs correctly plug in the camera into a usb port on your computer and windows should auto detect that it is there. Hope this clears things up.

Acer Aspire 4315 when i formatted the it is shown hard disk drivers not detected quit or restated the system.

If you are formatting this model Acer usinf the Windows XP installation CD then Windows cannot detect the hard disk because this Acer uses a SATA hard disk and Windows XP cannot detect a SATA hard disk. The Windows XP installation CD does not include a SATA driver in this CD.
To format and install Windows XP on your Acer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

I recently changed to a windows vista computer and the installation software that came with my Olympus camera is not installing properly. It shows that its there but it won't detect my camera when...

The CD provided may not have seperate driver for vista.
1.Try downloading the latest drivers for vista from Olympus website.
2.or Before running the setup.exe from CD, right click it -> properties. In that Compactibility tab, select the check box "Run in compactible with " and select windows XP in the list. After that try reinistalling the driver by running the setup.exe in CD

Connection between camera and computer

What operating system are you using? Is you camera connected via USB? Have you tried using another USB port? Did you make sure to install the software before plugging in your camera?

Generally if you are running Windows 98, you will need to reboot after installing the software to even have a chance of the camera being recognized correctly.

If you are running Windows 2000, XP or Vista, the camera should be recognized and a driver installed or searched for from the CD software you installed before plugging in the camera.

Sometimes if you plug in the camera first without installing the software, the PC finds a new device with no driver. You can see this by going to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager and you should see and exclamation on a device in the list. You need to remove this item and reboot your PC.

Now install the software first and when the install is done, then plug in your camera. Generally this works out pretty well.

Windows xp-cybershot driver

Ok what ya need to do is look on ya CD that came with ya camera.. on this CD ya should find any and all files necessary to get ya camera to work. One has to install the "Drivers" for the Camera these are usually on the CD supplied with ya camera. If ya haven't got one maybe try Ebay? Also you need to have a look in windows\system32\ for that sonyvu1.sys file.. if it's not there have a look on the CD, OR Driver files.. for that file and copy paste it to windows\system32 that MAY work? BUT I wonder if the Drivers you are using are correct I found some here.. http://www.nodevice.com/driver/company/SONY/Digital_Cameras.html and a troubleshooting manual here... www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCP200.pdf You have to install the drivers and then insert ya camera it should be detected and available as a normal "Drive" & OR thru the software that came with the camera. I hope this all is of some help...
