on pages that I saw , olympus comes up in the same breath so as an after thought, may be if you went to a camera shop with your camera, they may have experience in the problem , can provide a copy of the disc or be able to direct you to a repair shop that could help
I was getting super frustrated with my camera too, my huband is a genious.. he just flipped the mode to the one that shows a usb cable on it and it worked. Maybe this is all you need to do as well? Hth

I'm running 10.4.11, and my Mac recognizes the camera, and I can transfer videos and pics over through Finder, but iPhoto and iMovie don't seem to recognize it, so I figured it was a driver issue...
Not surprisingly, my dealer disappeared in the night as well... That's what happens when you buy cheap cameras off eBay... ;)
I'll come back and post a solution if I ever find one..
