Use Windows Update, let it detect the driver for you.

SOURCE: kodak easyshare m853 digital camera

I too had a problem with the charging of the camera. After talking with a computer savy guy, he told me all USB ports are not equal. Many do not have the power to charge something. This goes for hubs as well as on board ports. I tried 3 computers and finally got the proper charge cycle to kick in. I am looking to get the AC adapter to bypass this problem.

SOURCE: usb device not recognize

Try going into your control panel I JUST DID THIS!!!! because i had the same exact problem and it was killing me. Select your systems folder and click hardware you will see driver singing button click it and select "ignore install the software anyways" and that is it. it worked immediately after that simple change.

Samsung PL55 is not connecting to the computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I bought an untested Samsung L730 digital camera without a battery, I have bought a USB charger/data cable but the orange flashing light on the charger stays on. I am using Windows XP. Is it likely that...

You CANNOT charge a camera through a USB port there just is not enough power! you need to get an original wall charger and power up from that. Even the USB cable/wall charger will NEVER charge it up sufficiently.
The USB cable is for data transfer only.

When putting the memory card into the slot, the screen reads 'memory card error'. Also, will not read the camera when plugged into USB socket. Please Help!

Hi there,
The camera port only supports USB-equipped digital cameras that support Pict-Bridge. If you attach a USB device that is not compactible digital camera (or Bluetooth adaptor) to the camera port, an error message appears on the color graphics display. If you have an older HP-brand digital camera, try using the USB that came with the camera. PLug it into the USB port on the back of the HP-all-in-one and not into the camera port near the memory card slots, This works with HP digital cameras only.
By default, Windows XP will format a memory card of 8 MB or less and 64 MB more with the FAT32 format, Digital cameras and other devices use the FAT (FAT 16 or FAT 12) format and cannot operate with a FAT32 formatted card. Either format your memory card in your camera or select FAT format to format your memory card in a Windows XP PC.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

Unrecognized USB device

Check whether the software CD you received with the camera, support the Win XP OS. In case it doesn't, go to the Canon web site and download the relevant drivers for you camera and OS. Good luck!

ERROR: code 28 -- Windows XP & USB 2.0

I'm unable to connect my western digital hard drive to my Windows XP computer via the USB port. When I check the USB 2.0 Controller in the Device Manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark (!) next to it. When I check on the status of the USB 2.0 Controller, the following message appears:

The drivers for this device are not installed (code 28).

What do I do now?
