Hi
When should I change joint links (bushes that hold dumpers) in the yoke of r1200gsa? Any test that can tell that they must be changed?
Thanks,
Alex
Service man info alrady given.....
Excessive play, bad tracking on the road, or visible accident damage would warrant replacement... if not high mileage
When you can grab it by hand , move it around in directions it shouldn't go...Still didn't say if you have a high mileage bike, in which case replace the bushings..
When you say YOKE are you talking about the rear swing arm that holds your rear wheel or are you talking about your triple clamps and steerig bearings....you and i don' use the same terminology so i am trying to understand ok/

Service man info is general. I need specific answer to make decision about changing the link because bike had a accident.
What does it mean - excessive play and how to estimate it? It is exactly what I would like to know.
ok, in which direction it shouldn't go?
I am talking about triple clamp. In the triple clamp there are grooves where joint links (pot-type joints OEM#31422314135 ) are mounted. They hold damper tubes with big screws. Easest way is to look at http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/M... cose BMW design is quite unique
