I can hear sound in head phone where as i am unable to hear sound from speakers

what dvd, store bought real DVD or home made?
turn up the volumn?
with internal speakers?
or earbugs, 3.5mm jack
head phones with 3.5mm jack
head phones, with usb jack?
get external speakers with amp, will be best. for ROOM sound.

Check the headphone connector for lint.
Restart your phone.

Is there sound from the external speaker without headphones plugged in?
Is your phone playing sound through the external speaker with the headphones plugged in, or is there no sound at all?
Do you have any third party apps such as SoundAbout installed on your Samsung Galaxy S5?

Can a head phone be plug into the unit and if so - can you hear sound over the head phone. Also first look if nothing is stuck in the head phone jack (where it is plugged in as kids tend to stuff small objects into it). If sound can be heard over the head phones the unit is ok. The problem then lies with in the speaker output circuitry. The speaker output wiring has most of the time a inbuilt fuse that protects the circuitry when the speaker wires are shorted out when power (volume) is on. The unit has to be opened to replace it by a knowledgeable person.

The problem is with your "Ringer" (the bigger speaker). If you can hear the sound through your ear piece, then replacing the Ringer/Speaker will definitely fix your problem. I would suggest to get it done from a service center or from a mobile repairing shop.

try to go to device manager and uninstall drivers from there

insert the ear/head phone in backpanel sound pin (Green color),

1.if You can hear the sound in ear/Head phone,then the problem is in the speaker.replace the speakers

2.if You can't hear the sound in ear/Head phone,then the problem is in your system audio driver.So Down load the audio driver which is suitable for your system and install it.

Try running the diagnostic tool or performing the PC DOCTOR tool for audio device. the system sould tell you what went wrong for the audio device.

I just fixed mine. Plug in your head phone. wait couple of seconds. you will hear clicking noise which seems to reset the receiver. 10seconds later, sounds should come on and if not unplug the head phone and you should hear it then.

This problem has been driving me crazy too, but I found that if you connect to a blue tooth headset and when you are talking go to the "option" on the top right soft key and choose "use headset" you phone will start working again. It worked for me and I hope that it will work for you too.

You have the membrane of the speaker broken. Use it with the headphones or buy the replacement part here:
