Zi8 records static not voice

Sounds like it could be one of two things. Either the mic itself went out or the communication between the mic and board disconnected somehow. Has it been dropped or jiggled around in a bag? You could take it to a camera repair shop but it may be cheaper just to get a new one altogether. If you're under a year of owning it you could also contact the manufacturer.

Motorola talkabout t5710s won't recieve

Hi,

The question I would ask is:

How close are the two radios to each other when you contact from one to the other?

A distance between the two radios of about 10-15ft, preferably more is desirable to achieve audible results, having the closer than 10ft, causes one to cancel the other out, so you either hear static, feedback or nothing.

Try 15ft of more distance between radios and see what happens.

Pls feel free to post the results here on the two way radio forum, as I'm interested to find out what happens.

Cheers, Peter@FixYa Team

Want to use 2 wireless mics, getting interference or something when both are turned on. Are there specific settings I should use?

Its going to be dependent on the mics, any high-quality mics should have different channel options, ensuring that they are on seperate channels should fix any interference issues (unless the interference is coming from a different source)
Good luck, if you found this post helpful, please give me a good review :)

I got a cobra 29classic cb, little hours. i have

Set the squelch and knob to full counter-clockwise position. Turn the volume up to the 1/2 way point. Disconnect the external speaker plug from the jack. Disconnect any PA speaker plug from jack. Static / voices should be heard from internal speaker. If not disconnect the mic. Static / voices should be heard. If not, tune a different channel, sound should be heard. if not, look for indication of the radio stuck in transmit mode. If in transmit, there will be no sound until you can stop transmitting (hopefully while connected to a 50 ohm dummy load or suitable antenna - otherwise the final transistors may be blown). Reconnect accessories to determine problem component.

Good luck!

We have a Sennheiserew100 G2 mic kit with a wireless lav mic and transmitter we use for a canon xh-a1. The shotgun mic has been prefect but the lav mic is creating a static/noise in the background but then...

This is probably interference in the wireless connection for the lavalier mic.
Try switching channels to find a clear one!
Or switch to a wired lav mic if that's practical.
