Screen shows message "no input signal" and monitor goes to sleep.

When i turn the computer on, the screen does not show the welcome screen. A note pops up saying "No input signal". and then the monitor goes to sleep. however all the wires are correctly plugged in.This had happened once before, i turned the machine off. when i turned it on the next day the screen was back to normal. This time however, it has been 3 days since i first got the message, and the screen is still not working.

Monitor show "no input singnal" error masage when not gating any type of video singnal ,
so if u realy check your monitor wires for correctty plugged in .
then:-

Two possibilities:

either the video/mainboard of the monitor is defective; or
the video card/ CPU is the faulty.

A way to verify is to try the PC with another monitor or to try the monitor in another PC.

thanks

How to fix my monitor when its in sleep mode

Hi,
I assume this is a Desktop computer:
The Monitor receives, graphics or text from the PC (personal computer) and displays it on the screen.of the Monitor.
If you see a message on the screen that says * NO SIGNAL * in most cases the Monitor is good, and the Monitor is either not connected to the PC or there is a problem with the PC Check the connections and the video card.
The problem could also be related a failure of the motherboard, memory or the processor

When tryong to install monitor the computer starts but the monitor only show fujitsu siemens logo and before I can see anything else it states no signal going to sleep. Have downloaded updated driver for...

Does the monitor have two inputs? (Digital - DVI, and Analog - VGA)
If it does, check on your monitor whether the right input is selected; there can be a separate button for input selection, or the selection can be made from the monotor's On Screen Menu.

The monitor goes to sleep when i turn it on

Kindly try to disconnect the monitor from the computer and check it by connecting to power source only to see if it runs the self test, If it shows you the No input signal on the screen that means the monitor is working fine.

Please forward more details for further trouble shooting

No input signal

that is the problem of cpu not a monitor to confirm disconnect signal cable and power on. monitor will show "no signal check signal cable" it means that monitor is ok and fault lies in cpu .then open the cpu and disconnect ram and listen the beep. contineus beep should be heard then ram is faulty replace it. if no beep heard then motherboard is faulty .

I have a blank screen on my HPf1905 monitor. I have a HPm7330n computer. How do I know if its the monitor or the video card? Monitor shows a message no input signal, then goes to sleep mode.

if the message you recieve is no input signal if only means that you have a problem with your video card, the monitor is fine but you need to have your video card check

Screen goes to sleep after "no signal" message

If you do not move the mouse or press any key on the keyboard it could be just going into video power save. Confirm it by moving the mouse or pressing a key on the keyboard. If the monitor comes back on, adjust the power settings in control panel and change the time for the "turn off display" to a more suitable setting.

Monitor stuck in sleep mode

It will do this when it's not getting a video signal from the computer. Make sure that the signal cable is firmly plugged in at both ends. Also verify that the computer is actually starting up. The monitor may not be getting a signal because the computer isn't sending any.
