My acer aspire 4750g did not show anything once on after repairing windows 7 startup

A virus or infection has hidden your desktop or files and folders.
If your desktop icons are missing try the steps below.
Click Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to Task Manager. Hold the Ctrl key, plus Hold the Alt Key then hit the Del key while holding them. Once the task manager opens Clcik the Processes tab then click the Image Name Column heading on the left to get them in alphabetical order. Scroll down and look for explorer.exe. If you see it click it to highlight it then click End Process.

Next, click the FILE tab at the very top left of the window and select New Task (RUN). When the Create New Task window opens type explorer.exe and press ok. Your start menu, task bar and desktop icons will start appearing and populating. if not that means a virus has hidden your files and folders.

If your files and folders are missing then try the steps below.
Open the Task Manager by clicking Ctrl+Alt+Del. Press and Hold the Ctrl key and the Alt Key, then hit the Del key. Run the Task Manger.
In the upper left hand corner of the Task Manager window click File then select New Task (Run...). When the Create New Task window opens type: explorer.exe and press OK. Look for My Computer on the left when explorer returns the results. Don't click the + sign to the left of My Computer, instead click directly on the words My Computer, then look to the right and you will see Local Disk C. Click on Local Disk C one time just to highlight it, you don't want to open it. Once you have it highlighted in blue go to the top of the window and click Tools/Folder Options/View and look down and select Show Hidden Files and Folders.

Things should start appearing if not you can open the Local Disk C drive and click Documents and Settings (Windows XP) or Users (Windows 7) and look down and find the userid or user folders and Right Click on the Folder and select Properties. Look down for the Attributes near the bottom and if the Hidden has check in the box Remove the Check and click Apply. When Prompted apply the setting to all subfolders so that they too will not be hidden. Depending on the of the folder this might take a few minutes. This should restore you back to being operational.

You should download and run MalwareBytes to get rid of the infection.
Go to www.google.com and in the search box type:"Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download andinstall malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When thesite opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do notclick the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the GuiInterface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When I finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your mach

Had a virus got rid off it but now screen is white and cannot do anything with it

A white blank screen? That sounds like the virus changed your display settings. Click Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to the task manager. Press and hold the Ctrl key plus the Alt Key then hit the Del key. When the task manager opens up Click File at the upper left corner of the window then select New Task RUN. When the create New Task Window opens type: explorer.exe and hit OK. See if it starts populating your desktop icons and shows the start menu and task bar. If so, the virus changed your settings.

To change your display background click Start/Control Panel and look for Display or Appearance and Personalization. When it opens select the Desktop tab and change the desktop background. Hopefully the white will go away.

You may have to get into Safe Mode to do the above if the virus disabled the Task Manager.

There is an icon of uninstalled genuine windows on my task bar that everytime i open the computer says you maybe a victim of software counterfeiting which also affect my personal desktop background. I...

Hi. you can try this:
1. Before doing anything serious try restoring your system. If the problem is occurring after the Windows Update then System Restore will surely help. 2. But if it does not then do try this, launch Windows Task Manager. 3. Locate the process "wgatray.exe" and end it. 4. Log in into the Safe Mode and delete the file WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32 5. Also delete the WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32\dllcache 6. Type regedit in Run to open Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify key. 7. Delete the folder WgaLogon and all of its contents. 8. Restart the PC normally.
Note: if you are not comfortable doing steps 3-7, please please get a computer expert to do them for you.

Startup fails to complete properly

When on the screen, and you have no icons hold control(ctrl) down and shift key and press escape(esc) your windows task manager should appear, goto the applications tab, at the bottom goto the tab New Task and left click, another window should appear with a text bar, type in the text bar explorer.exe and click ok, all the icons and your normal screen should reapear.

If your screen goes back to normal goto the start bar and goto run or search and type "regedit".
When the regedit window appears left click the " + " sign next to Hkey_local_mechine the the plus sign on software, scroll down to Microsoft folder and click the plus sign, scroll down to Windows nt folder and click the plus sign, the plus sign on Current version folder, then scroll down to winlogon folder and left click on the folder icon, on the right hand side of the screen look for "shell" double click on the icon and delete everything in the text bar and type explorer.exe and click ok and exit out of the window, restart the pc and everything should be back to normal.

pls post back and tell me what happens.cheers.

I HAVE A WINDOW XP HOME EDITION AND WHEN I START MY COMPUTER THE ONLY THING THAT COMES UP IS THE BACKGROUND. THERE ARE NO ICONS OR A BAR AT BOTTOM OF SCREEN.

the icons and the bar(task bar) at the bottom of the screen are enabled by the explorer.exe file

it starts automatically but in your case it is not starting

to start it when your computer starts and comes at the desktop, press alt+ctrl+delete button at the same time to bring up the task manager

when you do this a task manager shows up in a window

in task manager window click on file, it will be located on the top left portion on task manager

now click on "new task(run)"

this opens another window, in that window type
"explorer"
without the quotes "" and press enter
this will bring you icons and task bar at the bottom of the screen
