I would recommend you to install a application called TuneUp utilities which is a awesome software to restore your taskbars, broken desktops and missing files in windows operating system. Dont worry all your icons would be restored.

Blank screen

A white blank screen? That sounds like the virus changed your display settings. Click Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to the task manager. Press and hold the Ctrl key plus the Alt Key then hit the Del key. When the task manager opens up Click File at the upper left corner of the window then select New Task RUN. When the create New Task Window opens type: explorer.exe and hit OK. See if it starts populating your desktop icons and shows the start menu and task bar. If so, the virus changed your settings.

To change your display background click Start/Control Panel and look for Display or Appearance and Personalization. When it opens select the Desktop tab and change the desktop background. Hopefully the white will go away.

You may have to get into Safe Mode to do the above if the virus disabled the Task Manager.

Resolution is off and I have tried almost everything to get it back, including reinstalling the video driver, the resolution is way to low or too high and my task bar is at the bottom. Nothing is centered...

Some programs (particularly games) change the screen resolution for the best display. The maximum screen size that can be displayed (completely) is either 1024x600 or 1366x768 depending on the exact model you have.

To change the screen

1. Right click your mouse in the desktop background photo and select "Properties"

2. Left click on the "Settings" tab at the top

3. A little way more than half way down the window you will see the "Screen resolution" slider. I would reduce it to 1024x600 and click the [Apply] button at the bottom of the window.

4. The screen will change, and you will be asked if this is the resolution you want. If it is click yes and click [OK] button to exit.

This should have you fixed up. You can play with this control and see what resolution you like the best.

Green display on boot up Please help

Check to see that there are no machine BIOS settings that could affect the monitor. Normally, the bios controls display until the OS takes over. If your XP screen after bootup looks fine, I don't see how you have a problem with your monitor setup under Windows.
