I have a hp officejet v 4315 all in one printer i

Sounds as if you have dirty drive path for the paper. Printers are bad about ink leaking (especially if not used often) and cleaning well involves some disassembly. The ink is very messy so wear rubber gloves. Clean around print cartridges, rollers, and also the glass for scans.

I replaced both cartriges bought at cartrige world. Screen on printer says: "Cartridge Error". I reinstalled both cartridges and still get "cartridge error". I don't have a owners manual, Help!

Align Cartridge:
If you have just installed a new cartridge it is recommended that you align it. Click on "Align" to align your new cartridge

You can download the required drivers from the internet. After you successfully install the required drivers, your laptop will recognize the printer. It will be easy if you have a DSL connection.
