  1. Controller is confusedA power surge or random non-reproducible action of the universe may have resulted in the controller's program ending up in an infinite loop. Pull the plug for a minute or two to reset it.
  2. Defective Interlock switchesThis can result in the controller thinking the door is open and ignoring you.
  3. CleaningCleaning solutions (spray cleaner) may have gotten inside and shorted out the touchpad or controller. If this happens remove the touchpad, let it air dry for a few days, and then attach it back on the microwave.

SOURCE: touch pad doesn't work

ut the tech sheet did mention that intermittent F7 problems are usually caused by poor connections. So I pulled the ribbon connector off the control board and cleaned the copper connectors using a pink pencil eraser. That whupped that puppy! But then I went out on another service call, same oven, different house. The pink pencil eraser trick didn't work on this one so I had to apply some of that famous Samurai gray matter. To identify the problem on this one, I cut power to the range and disconnected the ribbon connector that connected the touch pad to the electronic range control (ERC) board. Then I re-applied power and let it sit that way for 24 hours after which the customer was instructed to call me and report on the error code status of the oven. If no error code was reported, I knew the touch pad was the problem. If, on the other hand, the F7 error code came back, then I knew the (ERC) was the culprit. In this case, the error code did not come back during the test period and, using my keen, Vulcan-like powers of deduction, concluded that the touch pad was defective. I replaced the touch pad and problem solved!

SOURCE: GE model JVM2070SK02 touch pad not working

Most people, and GE will tell you these are not repairable and you must replace the whole unit for $300 - 500. I can fix them. If you are interested, let me know. [email protected] I can only fix the touchpad not working and it must not be physically damaged. You must be able to take out the control panel and send it to me. It is easy (3 screws and electrical connectors).

Microwave was beeping a single beep once in awhile now nothing happens but the clock still works

A lot of the time when that happens the touch pad is bad and may have a colappsed air pocket on a pad. ( it makes the unit think you are pushing a pad ) The only way to fix it is to replace it (the touch panel) . Did you see any numbers coming up in the display. Like if the 3 pad was bad and making it beep it may have been showing a 3 in the display,. Always possible it could be a bad main board. But most commonly I have found it to be the touch panel. Try to unplug it and then plug it back in and try to set the clock. when you do, try each number pad and see if they all work. See if any feel different.

Kenmore Elite Microwave Model No: 79080373310 giving E-11 error code

I do not know what an E-11 code is on that unit. But the fact you say no buttons are working gives me a clue that you may have a bad touch panel. Could be a Goofed up Microprocessor on the board. A Lot of units will give a code for a bad pad. If an air pocket in a pad colapses, the microwave thinks you are pushing and holding down a pad, so it will give a error code. An E-11 code may mean a bad touch panel on your unit. Try to unplug the unit, give it a minute and plug it back in, try to set the clock first and see what it does. When setting the clock try all of the number pads and see if they all respond. If one doesnt that mey be your bad pad. Or if a number comes up on its ownwithout pushing it, that pad could be shorted.

Push button not working on front panel

Possible that the panel is faulty specially if this is a touch pad. If so you need to replace the pad.
You can use a dryer to heat off moisture which can help in some cases.

Sharp microwave 8888 is flashing and I cannot remove

see this steps and fix it. God bless you

Reset the clock. Press "Clock" and the correct time, using the number pads. Press "AM/PM" if applicable, and press "Start" or "Clock" to confirm.

  • 2 Press "Timer On/Off" to reset the timer if nothing on the touch pad will operate. Use the number pads to select a new timed amount, if desired, and press "Timer On/Off" to start. Press again to cancel.
  • 3 Press and hold "Clear/Off" for three seconds if the timer will not function or is blinking when you touch the pads. This will release the "Child Lock" feature. Make a new touch pad selection.
  • 4 Disconnect power to the microwave if following Steps 1 through 3 does not resolve the blinking timer. Wait a few minutes, and then restore power to reset the microwave.

  • However if the problem persist the display board
    main control board is faulty

The ''stop/clear'' and ''clock'' setting feature quit working. Everything else is fine.

This is either a defective touch pad membrane or the entire main control board is not functioning correctly. many times, the unit will have a separate touch control but, most newer models will have the touch pad integrated together with the main assembly. In this case, replace the main touch control assembly.
