I have gateway model MT3418 What key with FN do I press to lighten or darken screen?

Press & hold Fn key (lower left colour coded blue) and press left or right arrow keys to lighten or darken the screen.

To adjust the screen contrast, press and release the 2ND key, then press and hold the up-arrow key to darken or the down-arrow key to lighten. If you go too far, press and release 2ND and press and hold the opposite arrow.

To adjust the screen contrast (to lighten screen or to darken it)

1. Press the [2nd] key and RELEASE it.
2. Press and HOLD the UP Arrow to darken screen, or
3. Press and HOLD the DOWN Arrow to lighten it.

Keep pressing the UP or Down arrows (whichever you need to press) until the screen contrast is adequate.

In your case, the screen is too dark, so you must press the DOWN arrow to lighten it.

Press and hold the Control key marked with a green diamond, then press the minus key (above the + ) to lighten the screen. If you lighten the screen contrast too much you can darken it as follows:
To darken the screen press and hold the diamond key and press the + key.

while holding the fn key (function) press the f8 key a few times, screen brightness should get brighter with each press. the fn key might be located next to the control key lower right corner of keyboard.

Press the BLUE FN Button along with F2 to turn off and on the WIRELESS NETWORK - under the mouse pad (far left light) will tell you if you did it correctly; ON = WIRELESS ON & OFF = WIRELESS OFF

Check that the terminals in the battery compartment are clean and shiny. Remove any powder left after battery leakage. Insert fresh batteries in calculator. Make sure you respect the polarity diagram. +-+- (Many malfunctions come from incorrectly placed batteries).

To adjust the screen: Darken or lighten display

To darken screen
Press [2nd] key and release it.
Press and hold [UpArrow] until screen is dark enough.

To lighten screen
Press [2nd] key and release it.
Press and hold [DownArrow] until screen is light enough.

After replacing batteries, calculator is restored to defaults and screen display may be too loght or too dark

Press and hold [DownArrow] until screen is light enough.

It's usually on the up,down,left,right arrow keys that are on the front right hand side of the keyboard.They have blue sun type symbols on them. You press and hold the Fn key, that's on the front left hand side, and then press one of the arrow keys to lighten or darken the screen

Reset the RAM to clear old settings that interfer with your new problem
[2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset][ENTER].
Press [CLEAR] to clear the screen.

After a memory reset you may have to adjust screen contrast.

To increase contrast (darken the screen)

1. Press [2nd] key and release it.
2. Press [UpArrow] key and release it.
3. Repeat sequence until screen darkens enough.

To lighten the screen

1. Press [2nd] key and release it.
2. Press [DownArrow] key and release it.
3. Repeat sequence until screen lightens enough.
